Any fans of "shock jocks" here?

Howard Stern, Don and Mike, Opie and Anthony, and Ron and Fez are the big ones in New York City. I listen to them when I get a chance, because I like to laugh (although sometimes they do go over the line). Any other fans out there?

Mancow is good..for when I am working around the house or something.

My husband loves to watch Howard Stern on E! I watch it with him just so I can go, "tsk, tsk, tsk." Then he goes to bed, and I end up watching the whole thing!

I used to listen to Tom Leykis on my way home. It wasn't always good, but at least it had variety, different callers, maybe a different topic. Better than I can say for the music stations.

Now I live in conservativeville (not recommended that anybdody moves here), and there is nothing close to a shock jock on the radio. Actually, nothing close to entertaining :(

Massive, I can relate! Since my move to New York City from Baltimore, I really appreciate the improved variety of free media. Everything is better, from radio to public television. Good luck in your situation, bro.

We use to have Imus in Atlanta and I would sometimes listen. But God, won't someone tell him that Nixon impersonations haven't been funny for 30 years?

I listen to Jim Rome and the local nut case gone syndicated Neil Boortz (Todd's favorite) and his buddy Royalle.

For some reason, no one wants to pick up Howard Stern in Atlanta. Why, I don't know. I always thought he got excellent ratings.

I listen to Stern nearly every morning .......he's not on in New Orleans so I have to get it from the net... he makes my day...

Good to hear Ron and Fez are on the air still......I listened to them when they were in Florida and it was the ron and ron show....good stuff.....

How tastes change

We must live in the same neighborhood!!!

I grew up out West and listened to Howard Stern a lot. Not a big fan of what I see on the TV now, but he could/can be real funny. Loved the song paradies "Hey OJ" and "Don't have lunch with Jeffrey Dalmer"

Now I listen to NPR a lot. About the only thing on the dial that isn't country.

I'm not a shock-jock fan, but I did enjoy Howard's movie "Private Parts", especially the statistics on listenership, (basically the people who hate him listen longer than his fans) , and how the network exec that set out to stop him became more foul-mouthed than Howard.

I can't stand disc jockeys. They feel the need to talk. Other than making necessary announcements and telling me what song and by who, I don't want to hear them. I absolutely loathe shock jocks and morning djs because these people never shut up. When I want talk radio I listen to NPR. I want to hear music not some idiot who thinks s/he's more interesting than s/he truly is.

Where are you getting Howard from on the net? Please let me know.

anyone listen to the Bob and Tom Show...........very funny,,,I kind of like Howard....but goes to far off the deep end sometimes.......

Used to listen to Steve Dalh.........

The Breast Man.......

I listened to Don and Mike AND BJ Shea AND Tom Leykis all in one day last week...I am still feeling the aftershocks...hell, I even spoke with Tom...but my husband says Tom won...lol

I don't agree with what they say...but they do have their points.

I'm a huge Don and Mike fan, for well over a decade here in Washington. I've also gotten to really like Opie and Anthony a lot. I highly recommend both shows, even if you have to find them on the net (Syndication Underground, I believe?).

I used to be a Stern fan, but haven't listened much since his divorce. He's just gotten....I don't know...plain.

Ron and Fez aren't run live here in Washington, so I don't get to listen to them much, but when I do, I enjoy them.

Cath,

You called in on Tom Leykis? Cool! ... Next time someone from lit is planning on being a caller, let us know so we can listen in:cool:

Yeah, the Buzz, that's what I miss. I went back to Seattle over the hollidays and listened to the Buzz a little. Also good to hear that Kennedy is off the air, she wasn't good on MTV, worse on the radio.

Oh well, cowpokes here seem to really like Rush and Dr. Lara. They could be shock jocks, it shocks me everytime I hear somebody listening to them.

I need to move back to Seattle.
