If Big Corporations cook the books to make themselves look better, do you trust that the government does not do the same thing when it reports the state of the economy to us...

Remember all the "adjustments" to the calculations that have gone on over the last decade?

Do we trust them or were the accountants just learning from the masters?

Despite an army of accountants, the government has not been able to balance their books in years, as far as I know.

That is NOT the same thing as not being able to balance a budget, for you non-accountants out there. Not balancing the books means information is missing or posted incorrectly/backwards. It would be like your checkbook saying you should have $100 but no matter what you do, you can't reconcile to the bank balance of $3.53
