another political year is coming for USA...

Unfortunately (unless it's changed since I last checked), the ignore button doesn't actually make the thread go away from your screen, never to exist in your browser again.

... or does it?
The threads they start disappear, the posts they insert are invisible, the quotes other people leave in their own posts are right in your face.

The firefox plugin I tout in my sig does a far better job, and also allows you to ignore specific threads, as well as jimmy bob's and zeb's turdy avs. But it doesn't work for the newest version of firefox, unfortunately.

I use adblocker plus to solve the avatar issue whilst I wait for the update.

I long for the days when the USA didn't inject itself into every problem around the world ... the days when the USA was but a wet spot on the underwear of the world. I long for something more advanced than the rich being rich and poor having no medical care and gay people having no rights. I long for a place like Canada, just like Americans did during the draft in the 60's.

CHARLEY'S IMPOSSIBLE DREAM.
It is the mission of each true knight...
His duty... nay, his privilege!
To dream the impossible dream,
To fight the unbeatable foe,
To bear with unbearable sorrow
To run where the brave dare not go;
To right the unrightable wrong.

To love, pure and chaste, from afar,
To try, when your arms are too weary,
To reach the unreachable star!

This is my Quest to follow that star,
No matter how hopeless, no matter how far,
To fight for the right
Without question or pause,
To be willing to march into hell
For a heavenly cause!

And I know, if I'll only be true
To this glorious Quest,
That my heart will lie peaceful and calm
When I'm laid to my rest.

And the world will be better for this,
That one man, scorned and covered with scars,
Still strove, with his last ounce of courage,
To reach the unreachable stars!

The Literotica Logo is "Free Speech, No Spam". The owners of this site express their agreement with the legal definition of free speech, as quoted above, in limited form to serve their own purposes, but the meaning remains, the right to express individual thoughts without intervention.

In every example of those advocating controlling and moderating the free exchange of ideas and thoughts, there is an ulterior motive, and that motive is easy to express; they fear the open exchange of ideas.

There is also a metaphysical function to free speech on all subjects, one that insures the widest dispersal of opposing ideas from which resolution may emerge. There is no division between erotic writing and ethics or morals and certainly no distinction from political thought, which is the summation of all ingredients in a given, free, society.

Free people enjoy exchanging thoughts and ideas on all things that interest them; to control or moderate their choices of what to express, is an obscene attempt to censor the expression of thought and thus free speech.

The coming election, the political and economic condition of not just the US, but the entire world, hangs in the balance of decisions to be made from discussions held and confronted all over the world.

There are sub-forums where each aspect of pure hedonism may be discussed endlessly, but very few where the entire spectrum of human interaction is open and free for those who wish to participate may do so.

Be aware of those who wish to limit your right to express your thoughts and know that they seek only to control and limit you.

Sorry Ami but your time here is very limited so use it wisely. Most people figured you would learn after a couple of trips to the GB. But no, you're still is silly as ever.

You, apparently, have spent little or no time on the GB. It is far more active and interesting from all aspects than is the AH and queers are called queers there and not given special status as they are on this forlorn forum.

Amicus

Oh, and yes, I thought this was an 'Author's' hangout, I expected the knowledge and sophistication that usually comes with writers; not the gay lesbian back yard fence coffee klatch it really is. Without Stella and Plt, this might even be a decent venue.

Then do us all a favor and stick to the GB. Although from what i read of your posts you were laughed out of the place as they yelled about our trash being dumped there. They love you as much as we do.

Do you a favor? I wouldn't piss on your leg if it were on fire. Spend some time at the GB, note that most of the 'interestng' thoughtful, Posters, have followed me there and deserted this hell hole.

Be careful what you wish for...

Yeah, right. I do follow things in the GB from time to time and no, you're not being followed by anything or anyone except your own bloated, outdated, and over-sighted ego.

By the way, your JBJ is showing through. Again.

AUTHORS HANGOUT should mean just that – a place where authors hangout. Here’s how our QUEEN has defined what is supposed to appear here:

[And remember - The Authors Hangout forum is for authorly/writing discussions, or for discussions started by Literotica authors. Thanks for understanding! – LAUREL :cattail:]

So why not set out some simple rules to ensure the AH becomes what it was designed to be. Here’s a simple solution:

1. If you didn’t submit a story in 2010 you wouldn’t be allowed to start threads in AH land in 2011.

2. Anyone who submits a story (that they wrote) to LITEROTICA in 2011 would be allowed to start 6 free threads in 2012.

3. If an author submitted more than 3 stories he’d be allowed up to 12 free threads.

4. The top ten MOST FAVORITED authors on the site would be allowed an extra 12 threads if they chose to start them.

Anyone who wanted to go over their limit would have to pay for the privilege. Ten dollars a thread for the first ten threads over the limit; Twenty dollars a thread for the next ten; Fifty dollars a thread for the next ten; and so on in ever increasing amounts.

Non authors such as miss omega would be allowed to post in AHland (after paying a small annual registration fee) but wouldn’t be allowed to start threads.

What would be lost and gained under such a system? Quite frankly all I can see are good points:

- Authors hangout would become a place for authors and not troublemakers
- More revenue for the site…
- Correctly limit the poor people to fewer threads than their more successful betters…
- Quality would replace quantity…
- The authors chosen as the best by our readers would be rewarded…

Etc., etc.

Didn't I suggest we should approach this with common sense? I was so sure I'd suggested we should approach this with common sense.

The 'common sense' is easy to explain: where ever Censorship raises its ugly head, it should be confronted, vigorously.

Ami, please hold your hand over your head so you can catch the irony in his post next time. he was addressing scouries stupidity.

Ah, Txrad, as much as I admire your knowledge about the oil fields, you are always a dollar short and a day late intellectually.

The issue is Censorship and you know it; Scouries suggestions are more sarcastic than irony, and while amusing, not worthy of response...as intended.

I was referring to SR71's comment you Nimrod.

That was the comment above you since you didn't quote what you were talking about and he was the only one referencing common sense.

AMICUS

I dunno. Maybe its time for Laurel to hand over AH to STELLA, and let STELLA police it like a German prison. No way would it be what the Usual Suspects like, but it is what they want. She'd jerk a knot in PILOT's tail in about 2 posts and have him fit for the kiddie petting zoo.

The only problem with this stupidity of your is that Stella does not want to police anything. She like the rest of us who spend our time here want there to be a separate political forum. But then again, if there was you couldn't shout your stupidity with impunity.

Keep trying to make it out that it's a Stella thing. It's not. It's an anti you and ami thing. Stupidity shouldn't have to be tolerated.

It's on your head cause you will be the first to go and we will all cheer as you get the boot out the door. Just like the folks on the BDSM Forum cheered when you got the boot there.

If I had my way, your cucumber thread would still be here. It's the single best thing you've ever written. :)

I'm a polymath, what can I say. But I write all kinds of things, and 99% of it I was paid. Few can make that claim at LIT.

Then I guess you wont be getting my cherry, huh? Thats the norm for you, isnt it?

I'm assuming this doesn't include forum posts, because that's at least 99 percent of what you write (in total) right there. :D
