Love what you do!I've watched it eat a few and is welcome to all it can catch. It holds it prey down with a talon and rips off pieces with the beak.

I love it when the Rufous hummingbirds arrive. The feeders become an absolute war zone and it's funny as hell.
I have a flock of about 40 sparrows. Exotic!We relocated to Idaho a few years ago from Florida and my parents followed. They got a nice place and she's always loved her birdfeeders. So we set her up a couple of nice ones and she's been enjoying them but ...
I got a text from her recently. "Holy cow! I think the only thing I'm accomplishing by having these feeders, is ringing the dinner bell for the hawks!"
In southern Idaho, it's mostly desert and farm/ranch country and we have more raptors than any place I've ever seen. Everything from kestrels to eagles. The local falcons are queued up, taking turns, turning her backyard into a killing field. Especially now that snow has fallen.
