The vast majority of current Japanese citizens were born after Pearl Harbor. Those that are still alive were probably children in 1941.

Japan is pro-American and an ally of the US.

What their ancestors did is history, and the Japanese suffered terribly for the mistake of attacking the US. (as did Hitler's Germany when Hitler made the mistake fo declaring war on America).

Japan and Germany are now the US's friends and allies. We can't and shouldn't forget, but those counties are very different now.
