There was some question about what a 750 word story would do. Austin's journey by me is exactly 750 words and it was stretched from a 300 word story by the same name posted here. It is now at 4.60 and on the big board. Just gloating a little.

correct me if i'm wrong...

wasn't killer muffin going to have a go at a 750er? did anyone hear how it went?

u r hot when u gloat MW, great to see! :)

Right on time

they nailed austin roflmffao... damn I am good I knew when I said it that they would come crawling out of their holes to nail it..... these people are so predictable lol. time to pull the votes lol

And of course it goes down because those evil fiends don't like you personally, even though you're the absolute best writer in existence. Gee, everyone else gets shot down naturally but not ol' MW. He gets hit because he has enemies.

I'd forgotten about that wso.

http://www.literotica.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=74755

Here's the thread.

http://www.literotica.com/stories/showstory.php?id=42828

Here's the story. Unlike some people, I'm not afraid to keep the voting on because of a bruising to an overinflated ego. It's a happy 3.57 right now.

Here's the solitary email I received because of it:

Comments:

Hey. Your story was good, but just a few tips on how to improve it.

A few times in your story you just from 'she' to 'I'. Be careful when you write
in third person not to mix it up.

Secondly, try making your erotic parts longer and more detailed. Remember, the
readers expect to read erotic, so write erotic.

Thirdly, some stories are better told if they have lead-ups, things that come
before the actual fucking. This helps create suspense, and a better story.

Thanks for the story.

Conclusion: It was a goodish story, but it was too short.

I read your story, MW. Good character development.

It was too rushed to get into, though, and I found myself skimming rather than reading despite the interesting character. The sex was dull and practically non-existent, you should have stuck it in non-erotic.

And no, I'm not just saying that because I think you've got arrogance that can't be backed up, either.

"thought to herself?" Who else is she going to think to?

muffie you should not have given the url

I had a friend in the chat room when you asked people to vote low on the gawd piece now i know why

Seems like every thread on this BB that has anything to do with voting on stories gets a snide comment or two from MW. Then he turns voting on and off until he gets a vote he likes. When his drek gets the score it deserves - the world is out to get him.
What a hypocrite!

Join the other fine authors on this site, MW. Get into the real world and learn how to improve.

And why should anyone read your stuff when he don't bother to read it yourself and correct things like grammar and spelling?

Well aren't you just the piece of shit.

You're accusing me of voter fraud, bubba.

You're despicable.

yes i am

and you know it is true
whether you admit it or not... but to try to turn your lie back on me is what is dispicable...

my my why not sign in and let us all know who you are

could it be you are my little stalker from last time
or some other spineless asshole

No defense? Against what? Nonsense?

I forgot you're determined to be a moron.

You made an accusation that can't be proven, isn't true, and is complete heresay. Why should I stoop to defending against your utter inability to accept that you, oh my gawd, might be wrong? You're 90% blather and 10% nonsense.

You'll lie to try to prove yourself right. You have no interest anyone beyond yourself. You steal words from other authors-- don't deny it you've said it yourself on several occasions.

You lie and you steal.

And this makes your opinion the least bit valuable how again?

YOu know what

I have given this all the thought it deserves.... You will get away with all this crap and only you will know I am right... so I have said about all I want to say. I am leaving this place to muffie the genius and all their menions lol... I do hope you can teach them all to write as good as you two do rofl. bye bye
dont bother to answer dearie i wont be here to read it lol

the stealing words

was the lie... I said it to spare your feeling cause i find you incredible boring to read now i am gone bye bye

Forgot to log out and troll yourself? Add to the drama, bubba.

I'm glad you find me incredibly boring. Your considered opinion is inconsequential because you have absolutely no knowledge of how to effectively render your opinion.

This is a place where it's guilty until proven innocent.

However, I will request that Laurel check your voting logs for my IP, I have cable and a static IP and any IP that might come from the university. You'll find it only has one. For the story with the empath. It was a 5.

But you don't want to hear that, do you. You want to sit in your own little fantasy world where the people who don't like your stories are me and the cohorts you've made up for me. You want to believe that I am "out to get you." You want me to be frustrated when you turn off your voting so I can't "get you" anymore.

There is nothing more pathetic than an old man wallowing in mediocrity and pretending it's a bestseller. Particularly when he's doing it on purpose.

But run along, little boy. You're worthless when you have nothing in your little mental armory but a handful of lies. Show your true and utterly indefensible colors. I bet you think yellow looks good on your sallow flesh.

One final response to the battle that took place on this bb this afternoon.
I am Lisa Collins Jordan. I am acquainted with the man you all have come to know and ‘love’ as MysteryWriter. We are not - as some have apparently suspected – one and the same person.
Regarding MW’s accusation of vote tampering. He was not lying. It was I who happened into a chatroom late one night and witnessed the Magnificent Ass (aka Killer Muffin) subtly – or not so subtly, depending on how far under her inexplicable spell you have fallen – mention to the other inhabitants of the room at that time, to be sure to vote as she desired for certain stories of her creation. In it’s rawest form, that is in fact vote tampering. As KillerMuffin publicly hails herself the undisputed writing master at PornRot, I do now have to wonder why she feels the need to rally for votes, when it would seem she was confident enough in her own brilliance to acquire them on talent alone. Nonetheless, to set the record straight, MysteryWriter did not lie about his knowledge of vote tampering; I was there and saw it take place. I have no vested interest in this site, so have no need to lie. Believe what you wish; you all know such things take place. And no doubt most of you are guilty of it at one time or another. Frankly, I couldn’t care less – folks, none of this is REAL!
My last words are for the Magnificent Ass herself – Queen of PornRot – KillerMuffin. Madam, I bow to your admirable knowledge of literary theory/writing/editing, etc. – all delivered to those who ask with a condescending pomposity that is sickening. But the sycophants seem to rise to your golden words of wisdom, so who am I to say what is horribly wrong with this situation. You have your kingdom – a second-rate, amateur porn writing website. Congratulations – your parents must be so proud of you.
Just remember everyone – your literary Queen and genius of the written word, is the same writer extraordinaire who penned the ultimate amateur porn story she in her vast wisdom entitled “If You Sprinkle When You Tinkle”. Such class….
Farewell. It’s been amusing…

Lisa, authors are allowed to solicit votes for their stories. There is nothing wrong with this. Some authors may feel that this is slumming or cheapening in some way, but it really isn't. It helps the fans to connect with the author and the author is rewarded with votes/feedback. So what? Everyone could do it if they wanted to.

You can see this happen in the 'real' world as well. For instance, you will see some authors go to radio stations or talk shows to promote their books etc. Now, some authors may frown on this, and say the book's merits should carry the sales. Well, sometimes the book's merits can use a little help. After all, there are a lot of books out there.

the facts just the facts

Just a couple of facts as I close the door on this experience. One, Austin had been on the new list for three days before this happened. Two, I don’t vote on anybody else’s except the retaliation I tried months ago in anger one night. Two. Austin got three bomb votes in the thirty minutes after I placed the note. Three. I don’t give a happy damn who voted the story down. To vote based on anything but the story takes a low life. Killer did go into a chatroom and ask the gawd story be voted low. Obviously to prove a point. I did not name her as the person who bombed Austin. That came from her not me. Of Course I have to idea how far she would go to prove a point, only she knows that.
The votes came from people on this board either writers or (less likely) misguided friends. I also suspect that the unregistered jerk is a writer with no guts. Afraid he will piss off someone with enough gut to lay it on the line. He knows what happens when you piss off a lowlife.
Now folk that is my last word I leave you in whatever peace you can find. Rofl

What the hell

Okay, well, what the hell. I haven't offended anyone for what, 12 hours now? So I'll weigh in here.

First off I wasn't there when KM supposedly told people how to vote on her stories, but even if she gave direct orders to people as in

"You vote a 4 and you vote a 5 and you vote a 3". It is still not voter fraud because those people have a choice. They don't have to do as she asked.

Voter fraud, is one person either using a lot of different computers or more likely using an IP spoofing script voting multiple times. I personally don't think this happens very often. I saw evidence of it happening with two stories and poof those stories disappeared from the site. I suspect that Laurel and Manu or one of their tech guys figured out how to detect the IP spoofing (which isn't all that hard) and perhaps have even altered the site to reject those attempts as well as removing stories and writers who did it. Or perhaps that isn't what happened at all. Maybe there was no voter fraud, but the writer included underage characters and this caused a huge number of high votes but then Laurel noticed and yanked the story. Or perhaps something I haven't even considered. I don't know.

But I do know that what MW accused KM of is not what I call voter fraud. Nuff said on that.

Now on to why I joined in here.

MW or Lisa CJ or whoever you are: If you consider Lit to be a "second-rate" site then please feel free to go to a "first-rate" site.

I don't think you'll find one. I have been all over the web and quite honestly I have never found an adult literature site better than Literotica. Lit offers more stories in a better format than any other site. Laurel and Manu work very hard to make the authors here feel welcome and the BB offers a wealth of information and advice that, in my opinion, has never been matched by any other site, pay or free.

You can jump all over KM, hell she can take care of herself and sure as hell doesn't need my protection, but you shouldn't be dis'ing Lit! That is going over the line and it makes me turn a nasty shade of purple.

And as far as KM ruling the BB. She doesn't. She contributes a lot to it, and I find her advice and help very useful, but she has no power to keep me from posting my drivel, nor does she have any power to keep you from posting your drivel. She is just another writer here. She says she has a loyal fan base. I believe that is true, she is a good enough writer to attract one, but if you look at the scores on her stories you will find she doesn't score any higher than the rest of us. The voters are fickle!

Well MW or Lisa CJ or whoever the hell you are. (I think they are the same person) I hope you will reconsider and re-evaluate what you have said. You owe Laurel and Manu an appology and I would like to see you make it publicly. But even if you choose not to, you are still welcome here at Lit, until Laurel or Manu say otherwise, and I hope you will stick around and help us keep the BB lively. But as long as you are here I would hope you would refrain from bad mouthing the site! That just ain't cool!

Dear Killer Muffin

Re: You Kiss It, You Fuck It, Gawd

Frankly I'm surprised. Is this really your writing?

The intention of daring you to write a 750 story was because I knew you had the skill and experience to achieve it. It can be done. Countless others have managed it. I knew that your writing would fit into that word count and I knew that it would probably be better written than anything I could write.

I'm really disappointed. The story looks like something worse than one of my own students could have whipped out in 5 minutes flat. With all your discussion on grammar and editing I at least expected something half decent, not this.

I don't consider that you achieved the dare. Perhaps with a little editing and cleaning up you could re-submit it and make it a worthy piece of writing to attach your nickname too. After all now that you've told us your Gawd nickname, that writing should be up to the same standard as your Killer Muffin work. You're only selling your readers short now that they know.

I was going to leave my comments at that KM, but in my soul I know I need to say what else is on my mind.

For a person with such a responsibility as you have on this Lit site, I'm concerned that you're still here. No one in your position should be allowed to continue when you have openly insulted another author like this. No matter whether you think you were goaded into it or not, your position requires that you hold yourself accountable for your responses.

What happened to respect? It doesn't matter whether you're getting paid for your work or not, the point I'm making is that you are in a position of responsibility and need to convey that you respect others. How many authors have just been deeply shocked by what's been said on this thread? How many new authors who came in here to see how things work will have any respect for your experience and comments now?

They were my thoughts on a portion of what's been happening here. Thank you for letting me voice them.

To clarify, KillerMuffin is a Moderator for one of the forums here. That is the "extent" of her "responsibility". She does this - as all Moderators do - for free, pro bono, without pay or compensation. She, like many other authors and readers who are supportive of the site, also helps out in other ways such as putting together the Survivor contest - for free, pro bono, without hope of compensation. As the site grows, it becomes increasingly difficult for Manu and I to handle everything, and thus we are - as you would be - very appreciative of all the extra help and support we receive from our writers & readers. They help to make the site better.

KM has no "position" from which she can be hired or fired, and the last thing I would do is penalize her or anyone else by saying "Since you helped us out, you no longer may promote your stories or argue with people". She is not employed by the site, nor does she represent us. The same is true of all the Moderators.

If you all wanna argue with KM, fine. I'd appreciate it if you could leave the site out of it. Thanks. :)

Laurel

I was not downing your very comprehensive website. In fact I hold it in great esteem. I'm honoured that you and Manu have allowed me to submit written work here and also that you allow discussion on your threads. I appreciate all you both do in the foreground and the background.

Having said that, what I was trying to say before was that to keep the standards you and Manu have set, Moderators at least should be showing respect. It's simply good manners and good practice if nothing else.

No matter what's been said before, it's extremely difficult at times to show emotions online. But outright slagging each other off lowers the standards somewhat.

I happen to think that Killer Muffin has a great deal of experience that I myself can learn from, in fact I have already learnt from her.

Is being a Moderator, not being in a position of responsibility? If others who use the site cannot be in awe of such a position, then at least we should be able to respect it.

Thank you Laurel for taking the time to step in on this thread.

Hi wildsweetone!

I appreciate your response, and understand your position. The Moderator's duties are to move spam and personal information off the boards. It is not a position of authority - rather, it is, in a way, a housekeeping position. They help keep Literotica clean and enjoyable for all. AND they do this of their own free will, and for free no less. :)

Personal conflicts are inevitable. The Moderators are human beings, and privy to the same failings as all of us. If this were a one-sided situation in which KM were somehow using her Mod powers (which she cannot, as she doesn't even mod this forum) to harm users, things would be different.

As I see it, the situation is very much a two-way street, with insults and accusations flowing both ways rather freely. It's an ugly, silly mess IMHO, but there is no abuse of "Mod powers" so her position as housekeepr for other forums is irrelevent. This is why I ask that everyone confine their accusations/etc. to those involved, and not drag Lit into this. I'm not KM's mom - and I doubt KM's mom wants in either. :)
