Wars ever end on a single day,they spit and sputter out over the course of years. The government is still paying millions out to WW2 vets and their widows.

My father and his two brothers all served in WW2. Father spent 2+ years in POW camps. Uncle John got part of an ear shot off on Omaha beach. Uncle Bob flew 22 mission in the belly turret of a B-17 bomber. They have all passed.I served for 20+ years. EXACTLY where did I say that it was a bad thing? The wars we have recently fought we will be paying out for decades to come.

oh yes...
i see all of this on your myspace page.
forgive my ignorance.

the way your first reply reads
suggests that paying wwii vets and widows is an issue.
i am simply shutting that ridiculous notion down.

as i will for all widows/orphans/surviving vets of all of our conflicts.

wars sputter out. ok.
the unconditional surrender had a date.
as good a date as any to measure by...
like when they nailed up the carpenter...
they use that date too?

perhaps a savings could be had were the date later
or forgotten or...?

i'm sorry?
what was your point;
other than being heard?

My point is simply that wars just don't end because someone signs a paper. People continued to die after VE and VJ day,and the cost of WW2 is still being paid.

ok. fair enough.
the crusades didn't solve all the issues then either...

here.
2pts - hufflepuff...

happy?

we forget wwii
at our peril, mr santayana.

i posit that we are imperiled;
whatever additional cost you may assign to that.
