Anyone here, male preferably but female also, have any recommendations on how to properly use an anal dildo? I used anal beads for the first time to night and had more than a little clean up but now I want to try the dildo and it's even bigger that the largest bead and that was stretching it to get in. Use water soluble lube (like KY or Astroglide) and cover your dildo with a condom - clean-up is much easier!

Beads are actually more difficult to work with than dildos, in my opinion. Use your fingers first to relax and lube yourself or your partner, and then slowly insert toys/cocks/etc.

Proceed slowly - slowly - slowly.

Start out using a generous amount of a water soluble lube, applying to both the dildo and direct to your anus. You can also try working in a finger with the lube. (You can also get things like anal-eze, a numbing lube, at larger adult novelty shoppes)

Relax and begin working a small sized dildo in slowly. Stop when it starts to hurt and relax your muscles. If you are really relaxed you can begin working up to larger sized dildo's. Just remember to use plenty of lube and go slowly.

Once you have the dildo in fully and you adjust to it, you can begin working it in and out.

Sweetsubsarahh, you are 100% correct about the numbing gel and I meant to add that to my post. I also was going to add that with the use of a numbing lube you will also lose much of the sensation because you are numbing the region.

When my boyfriend (now husband) and I were discovering anal sex together I remember doing some reading and research about the topic - doctors were preaching the dangers of such activities then - (1987-88 or so). I haven't found any recent medical information to suggest that there are possible anal problems from wearing a plug too long (sharp objects, occasional infections, yes - but no inherent dangers from over-stretching things).

Jack Morin has written a wonderful book about Anal Pleasure and Health (I think that's the title - I haven't read it in several years). The sphincter is a muscle, and thus will benefit from use, just like any muscle. In his opinion, your ass will only get tighter and stronger!
