Just sitting here contemplating meaningless posts, and I just experienced an Earthquake. Of course, at 1:40 in the morning that can't be meaningless.

Cool. The tremor lasted all of 7 seconds...

Merlin, only in California are earthquakes "cool".

I was just reading your post when they mentioned on TV that there was a 5.2 earthquake centered in Napa. I'm less than 2 hours away and didn't feel a thing. Must be all this bedrock. I only seem to notice the ones centered in Lake Tahoe.

Hmm, maybe I shouldn't have turned down earthquake coverage on my house?

"Earthquake huh?"

I have a earthquake at my house everytime I turn the stereo on.(LOL)

I can't remember exactly when it was, about a year ago,we had a slite earthquake here in Michigan.
I think it was centered in New York somewhere.
I don't think I'd like living someplace that shakes you out of bed in the middle of the night.

Well hold on tight their M.M.

That's less than 40 minutes from my house Bigdog, and thank god I'm situated on solid bedrock. The last time an earthquake shook my house this much was around 5 pm on a Tuesday evening in October 1989. Loma Prieta! Thats why this one got my attention! When my house starts shaking, its time to get prepared.

Myrrdin, unfortunately I can guarantee that wasn't the cause tonight:)

SS, my lovely lady, you know a gentleman never kisses and tells.

*sigh* of course, one can daydream such wonderful thoughts ;)

Earthquakes are kind of fun, if one is on the top floor of a highrise, and the quake itself is less than 4.0.

It gives an entirely new meaning to rock and roll.

This may not be ladylike, but when the Landers quake hit some years ago, I was not alone. However, it wasn't a magical moment.

C'mon MM you mean you son't kiss and tell, can't you include all of us in on your little secret between you and ss. We won't tell honest.

Earthquakes cool are you nuts I don't know MM we need to get you away from them, you seem to b enjoying them a little too much. Lol.

You shook me all night long

So the earth shook for you, darling?

She told me to come but I was already there
Cause the walls start shaking
The earth was quaking
My mind was aching
and we were making it and you -
Shook me all night long
Yeah you shook me all night long

Now Skitten dear think about it!! He thinks earthquakes are cool so obviously they dont bother him just like it doesnt bother us when theres 4 ft of snow on the ground. Hell a friend of mine is living in FL and when that hurricane was gonna hit a few weeks ago i called him and told him to be careful. He told me he was gonna throw a party!! That they already had the keg by the pool! So its not that they are cool its just they dont bother him.

Oh Merlin...the earth shakes everytime we talk...
and My Izzy, I love that song, can i shake you all night long?

How in the world can a thread on earthquakes deginerate into sexual ineuendo's (Rosie! Leave that one alone!) so early in the morning?

All of the wonderful women here! You just have to adore them.:D

Skitten, now who said there was a *secret* between SS and I? :) She just has a special understanding of my, lets say, interest in earthquakes... And what man can resist such a special lady that understands him? :D I'm not telling..

Havoc bud, if your out there, get over here right away. I can just feel a drunken, debauched party beginning to happen today:D:D

An earthmoving party! Why wasn't I invited, MM sweetie? *pout*

Well, I still have my party hat on from visiting Nikki's birthday thread, so I'm ready whenever you are. :D

Glad to see it wasn't too bad for ya' MM...would like you to arrive at the wedding in one piece, darlin'. ;)

My dear, your always invited, you should know that by now. And don't worry, no little earthquake would keep me from yours and Xander's wedding day...:D

Cool, I'm invited! :D

Now, such decisions...I could party on Nikki's birthday thread, but well, I'm a day late there. I could party on the Bobtoad bashing thread, but nah, that's just not my kinda partying...although with the nakedness going on over there, it is tempting. So, I'll bring my naked little self over here to party.

Since wizzie isn't here with his kiddie pool, MM, wanna join me in the jacuzzi? Oh and I brought a little gift for you too, babe...it's a genuine Loofah! :D

Thanks for the invite to your earthmoving bash. I do have one question though...how is it that you make the earth move like that? *looking innocently confused*

*By personal request, strolling my way through here, nodding to Merlin, catching the brew he tosses my way, exiting stage left singing....:)*

"I feel the Earth,
Move,
Under my feet..."

Havoc the Wandering Minstrel

That's one reason, I could never live in California. Too many earthquakes. Here on the east coast, it's bad enough I have to contend with the hurricanes. :(

LMAO@ Havoc........

Damn Havoc, you are in rare form today.......Wander back through if you get a chance.......

Angel, Angel, Angel.....*reminding self to behave* Loofahs?.......

Nah, better not go there.....*wondering what happened to that Loofah person? I miss that sweet one very much*

Where the hell is pool? :D:D

Yes Merlin sweetie...Loofahs! I seem to recall that my $1,000 prize that Alex awarded me was supposed to be for me to take you, wizzie and LL out to Micky D's, followed by a drink with our Lovely Latina.

Now LL, where the heck are you babe? I've got a bronzed Loofah for you, too. :)

And if wizzie doesn't get here soon with the pool, I'm gonna have to find a hose to play with. :D

Right here young lady............I'll get the pool in order..

*pouting* you still haven't sent me any of those cherry chocolate candies you talk about

MM <> I Can Totally Relate...

I was also woken up in the wee hours of the morn... House shaking, windows ratteling... Living just over the hill from Napa in Fairfield, we felt it well... I was living in SF during the October 89 Loma Prieta quake... Just missed the Bay Bridge Collapse by 15 min... The loss of life was devestating on the Cypress Structure and through out the area...

One word would sum up earthquakes for me <> AWESOME <> it's the only word that comes to mind... If you've never ridden one out, you couldn't even imagine... Nature is a force to be reckoned with... After that I found a new respect for her... lol

But you can give me earthquakes anyday as opposed to huricanes and tornados... I'm sure those back east feel the exact same way about our quakes... lol

I'm with Dee J on that one. I'd rather have an earthquake any day, than being chased by an F4 Texas Twister.
