It appears to me that the Jews ousted the British colonizers, and then the Arabs / Muslims (Palestinians?) tried to employ the strategy from the game of Risk and attack the newly formed state of Israel while the Israelis were re-consolidating. It was a blatant attempt to annex all of Judea for the Arab / Muslims (Palestinians?) after the Jews ousted the British colonizers; full stop.
