You do the best you can to weed out the ones looking for victims they can prey on under the protection of their badge but those types will always manage to sneak in.

When the media only focuses on the bad ones in the name of ratings and sensationalism, the good ones get ignored or swept up and painted as the same scum. That hurts the good cops and they either quit, or they stop doing their job at the same level they've been doing it. Which means that most of the ones who are left are the bad cops who got past the checks in the hiring process.

Guess which ones the media continues to focus on?

Y'all seem to have a better selection record for police dogs and horses.

houses, cars, villas in portugal (for a few of 'em at least) wasnt only the dibble though, some military drivers drove the coal trucks through the lines 'obeying orders' some military advisors presumably trained the dibble in snatch squad tactics (and other tactics).

control the law, the church and education system and you control society.

coppers, lawyers, judges, priests, teachers. Not a lot between any of 'em.

It is indeed an "either / or" type of thing.

You're either a good cop who will do whatever is necessary when it's necessary, or you aren't. There is no middle ground or gray area.
