America is Not the Greatest Country in the World Anymore

:) Well, it certainly is in many ways exceptional.

Each and every American should watch the video from this thread's first post (also linked here) ... then ... go out and do something to fix what he's ranting on about.

Right now I'm going to ... to what...?

First, I'm going to get off this computer...

Then, I'm going to clear my desk, get out my algebra books, refresh my skills, and get back to tutoring.

What was that...? Am I going to quit writing here...? Hell, no. I can do both.

Don't care about the clip or HBO, but regarding the greatest country. I would say its still the greatest country when you look at the competition, but that's no longer saying much. The whole world is a craphole nowadays. The US is certainly not the great country it was during its Golden Age in the years after WWII (50s and 60s). On the other hand, we still have the Constitution which is unique and makes us greater than any other land.

There are already efforts underway to undermine and eventually get rid of the Constitution. Its a matter of time and like every other liberal assault on anything once considered sacred, it will evenually succeed. For now, though, our Constitution still makes the US the greatest country despite the degeneration in the culture, the divisive multiculturism, and the loss of our once great manufacturing base. Once its gone, nothing special will be left.

Renard, no one wants to get rid of the Constitution. And corporations are bringing back jobs to the U.S., just not fast enough.

That is a great clip and that is a great show. Watch it.

I don't have HBO, so will have to look for streaming video.

It's like we didn't even watch the same video?!

I only watched the first minute. Does the loudmouth ever get around to saying which country is the greatest, and when he plans to move there?

You plan on growing up to be a failure?

That is actually a really good question.

The answer is no. So then it begs the question, then why say 'for now' ?

The answer is that I think that strength is not just measured in how many times you can annihilate everything living thing. Once is enough on that axis. So lets not invest in being able to annihilate everything living thing a 7th time.

Instead lets invest in being smarter than everyone else. Cooler than everyone else. And happier than everyone else, while maintaining the ability to annihilate everyone else, but only twice over. Or maybe three times, for you hawks.

So I said, "for now" because I think America is still trying to figure out a way to annihilate everyone for a 7th time, rather than trying to be smarter, cooler and happier.

Smarter, cooler and happier is the way we go from good to great in the 21st century.

Spoiler alert: It's Iceland.

I know, stunned the hell out of me too, my money was on Guinea-Bissau.
