Oh, you're right. What a jackass. Instead, let's just sit around with our thumbs in our asses while every other "terrorist" group with a direct line to Allah kills another several thousand of OUR people.

I like your plan MUCH better.

Just because you can't spell declared is no reason to post as a troll.

And by the way, you are a spineless piece of donkey shit.

I was in class and missed the el speecho.

So we are going to war.... this surprised someone?

I guess I actually am psychic, according to Unregistered here.

A week or so ago I said.... "to go to war would mean the start of WWIII" and here it is.... WWIII.... Fancy that.

The stupid fucker (Bin Laden) declared WW3 when those planes crashed into the WTC.

The President just reiterated that we will end what terrorists began.

A question for anyone over in the UK. The new post that Bush has created called, "The Office of Homeland Security", is this like anything you might have over there? I just get the feeling that this is something like MI5 or 6, perhaps?? Thankfully though, Bush has now rid PA of Ridge. Celebration in my house!

It's the Hart-Rudman plan -

Thsi office was suggested a few months ago, and there was a lot of Republican and Democratic Congressional support for combining a lot of functions in one office, but the Bush Administration wanted to place all the functions under FEMA and Bush's old campaign manager, Joe Allbaugh, so the plan went nowhere.
Better late then never: The problem is that all they do in DC is set up competing fiefdoms. The FBI and CIA refuse to share information, and the FBI always competes with local cops (the FBI funded some of NYC's most notorious after-hours nightclubs for years in hopes of catching the NYPD taking bribes). This is an effort to create a new bureaucracy (as the CIA was created to combine intelligence sources and analysis after WW II). It may just become a new power pod with its own discreet staff and territorial issues. Let's hope things go better. The FBI has sucked unbelievably, in so many ways, for sooo long.

So Nick: Please tell us more about Ridge. We mostlty know him as the guy whose support for abortion rights allegedly cost him the VP nomination.

This was the only part about Bush's speech I really didn't like, 'cause it was so amusing.
A while back, Canada was their greatest friend.
Then, even more recently, Mexico.
Now, Great Britain.

:) Make up your mind! :)

As far as I'm concerned, Canada, Mexico, and Great Britain all make pretty good friends.

Re: Shadowsource

Well, to start with, the man doesn't read legislation he signs. Biggest example of him fucking up...during the push for new stadiums in both Pittsburgh and Philadelphia in the late 1990s there was a huge debate on whether or not there should be a local 1 cent added to the sales tax in the Pittsburgh area to not only help fund the stadiums but also provide extensive capital to help improve local infrastructure. It failed. There was a law a month or so later dealing with firefighting and some civic funding, and somehow a lawmaker from Pittsburgh put through a rider that allowed the bill to be used to finance part of the Pittsburgh stadiums. No one knew about it, and Ridge signed. Mayor Murphy proclaimed from the mountains how Pittsburgh could now go ahead and build, and Ridge was confused as hell. HUGE gaffe!

Ok, I'll admit, he's done some good in both the major cities as well as the rural areas, Kaverner here in Philadelphia, convention centers in a few other places, but he's failed to live up to his self proclaimed education governor label. He's threatened to take of the school district of Philadelphia b/c they are seriously in debt, yet refuses to give any more aide to them, and repeats that they cut costs. Mind you, there aren't enough teachers for the students in the district, but they should still cut costs. Higher education isn't his strong point either as he continually stresses the need to PA to maintain its college and university graduates, but does little in trying to accomplish it. He also has mandated that all dormitories in all state run/sponsored (too long of a discussion on how we have state-run and partially funded schools) universities have sprinklers, yet has declined to give them the money to do this, instead offering loans on an "as needed basis". I'd go on, but then I'd be like p_p_man criticizing Bush.

One other question about this new, "cabinet-level" position. Doesn't "Homeland Security" sound a whole lot like "Defense", or is the Defense department not suppose to ensure our security? Must be a semantics thing, huh?

So all of us think that bombing another nation is a bright idea.. Some fanatic bastard did a horrible act and we follow on the same footsteps and kill double, maybe triple the number of innocent people that hes managed to kill !

I dunno about u guys but im not really with this idea of "war". It might give Bush a lot of mileage in his political career, as he gives out patriotic dialogues to stir up americans who are already devasted by the tragedy.

Afghanistan was destroyed completely by the Russians. Now the Americans can go ahead and finish off the rest. Repeat everything what happened in Iraq ,Kosovo. Bush Snr. and CLinton should have killed themselves if they had even a little consciousness about the number of innocent people that have suffered at their hands.

I dont think i wanna be part of this gruesome act. If Bush thinks that hes going to wipe out terrorism at one go, then God save the afghans and all other countries where terrorists are hiding. Hes under tremendous amount of pressure to do "something" actually "anything" to respond against the attacks. So bombin Afghanistan is the easiest way out to cash in on the patriotic wave thats running across all of America. He will be a hero and a proud American in the end. Once again America shall have their hands soaked in the blood of the innocent and once again they shall be applauded as heros who had to do this because they were compelled to do it.

LONG LIVE JUSTICE..LONG LIVE AMERICA !

I guess after sometime it will only america who will be living because by that time they would annhiliated every other nation. Then maybe the americans can sit on their graves and sing songs of victory and patriotism!

All of you people that think this is going to be characterized by extended bombing campaigns and trying to wipe out terrorism in one week should remove your cranial butt-plugs and actually listen to what those who will be conducting these operations have been saying.

But that would require you to calm down and think a little, so nevermind.

First off, I don't think SS is implying that we make war with Afghanistan, but instead is pointing out that we do have to do something about the terrorist organizations lest we sit back and allow this to continue to happen.

Second, I don't think you paid much attention to Bush as he said straight out this wasn't going to be a one off mission, but was instead going to be a drawn out campaign to eradicate terrorism.

Now, supposing for a second that we don't bomb the hell out of Afghanistan and just kick up the rubble that most of the country is, but instead send in troops to fight the Taliban (no, I'm not at all advocating this folks), would you disagree with that as well Mr. Indianbadazz? Seeing as how the Taliban is not representative of most Afghanis, nor are they even recognized as a government, would it be such a bad thing to rid Afghanistan of them? Then perhaps the women could walk outside and show their wrists if they wanted to, maybe even go get an education.
