It's so strange. I never used to think much of Madonna - she just isn't my type. Her slut / tramp stage in the beginning was a turn off for me, and her Marilyn Monroe stage was even worse (for me).

But then..... last night I saw her in the "American Pie" music video. And then I saw a picture of her in a magazine this morning. I actually think that she is looking stunning at the moment - better than I have seen her before. Pretty sexy, don't you think?

Did any one else find her absolutely edible in "American Pie"?

I am just the opposite of you Slut_boy. I loved her early years, she was my idol. But ever since the austin powers movie came out it just seems to me she's trying to appear younger than what she is. there are a lot of 'divas' who have grown old gracefully (Tina Turner, Whitney Houston, Cher, etc) why can't Madonna?

The mag I seen had Madonna on the cover, looked like she was doin a farah faucet impersonation. she needs to do something about them caked on lashes too.

I still love her music, especially the recent one (dance w/ my baby??) but even that song is a perfect example of her tryin to fit in with the 20ish crowd

I'm with Slut Boy. I liked American Pie. She took a Sixties song, that was feeling a little dated, and gave it new life.
Thats how stars survive by re-inventing themselves now and again. Trying something different.

The new song is ok, but it is one of those, where you feel its more down to the skill of the sound mixer, engineer, editor than the actual singer.

Then, I didn't like her really until her new song...

I've never liked madonna. I tried to sit through her movie
once the one about her forget the name but anyway I left in
the middle of it. Why was I in it in the first place? I was
waiting for the next showing of another movie and it was one
of those 2$ ticket places so I said screw it. Anyway I don't
know why I dislike her so much but she seems to be bitchy to
me and just somethign about her personality turns me off.
I'm sure there are many guys out there that adore her tho and
she dosn't care at all how I feel. I also think i'm an idiot
for basing my opinion of someone on what i've seen on tv but

You know, The only Madonna movie I've ever seen is 'A League of Their Own.' and I rather liked it myself.
I don't know if Madonna is a slut or not, perhaps hearing the stories of what women on this board have done (ie, threesomes, sex in public places, S/m.. the list goes on and on) has warped me but then again I never cared much about judging people how they get their kicks. I always assumed the majority of the people on this board were like that. I mean, walking around in almost nothing is tame to some of the stuff I've read on the board.

The reason I like Madonna is because I like her music. I like the fact that she's always changing what she's doing and that she does like to put her beliefs in her music - maybe she is 'pop' but she's better than all of the Backstreet Boys, Brittany Spears and Eminims of the world combined.

Madonna's first 'hit' was in 1983, that was two year after I was born, I find it difficult to believe that anyone could survive the music world for almost two decades and still be a chart topper on only their ability to shock, sleep with everyone and walk around naked. Isn't that what every starlet to be is doing now anyway?

I wouldn't mind if most people gave their honest opinions about her music but all I ever hear is 'she did this', 'she said this', 'she wore this' and 'she meant this'. Sure, that's the gift wrapping but no one is going to buy album after album if her music was nothing more than the same tired rehashing or an attempt to shock the listener.

I've never really been into madonna's music. I was just stating my opinion on her as a person. And as I said it's pretty sad that I have any opinion since i've never met her in real. Still I have seen a few things over time that lead me to belive she was not someone I would like but I can't remember any specifics. As far as a musician goes anyone who can be that popular for that many years deserves respect. And I guess if you have half the world fawning over you all the time you might be a bit bitchy/self-centered. Anyway If I ever met madonna in real I wouldn't let my past judgement of her affect me in anyway since I think you should judge a person on how they have acted to you not from what you have heard others say.

I never cared much for her or her music till I saw her in Evita. I was quite impressed with the performance. Even though it was widely panned, I enjoyed it.

I believe she has outgrown her shock em, rock em persona and has allowed motherhood and maturity to soften her a bit.
