Why not introduce yourself on the New to Lit thread and join in our interactive stories.
I'd suggest reading Hecate's good advice then find a story that you like that's not marked as "Closed" and present a character to fit and have have FUN.
Oh, a warning though. It's damed addictive, I know. *L
