Here's the thing you're missing, mankind isn't powerful enough, or smart enough, to be able to tamper with the climate.

And like EVERYTHING else we've fucked around with since the beginning of creation, we will only make things worse by trying.

Instead of bemoaning something intangible, like the effect of man on global warming, try looking at actual history (I know that's difficult as long as someone wears Progressive lenses) and ask yourself why there aren't any woolly mammoths in Siberia. There used to be, what happened?

Obviously the answer is climate change, the world got warmer. And it did it millions of years ago.

Somehow I doubt that the fossil fuel industry had anything to do with that.

This isn't to say I'm not for a healthy environment. What I am is against political bullshit designed for the sole purpose of parting me from my money to feed the lazy, inept, and greedy.

You should really avoid talking about things you simply do not understand. Mankind is more than capable of affecting the climate and the world and we do all the fucking time but if you want to talk about relatively big things I'm old enough to remember when we were losing the Ozone layer. I'm old enough to be able to joke about how in LA you could see the air and that's how you knew it was real. Everybody can remember when China cleaned up the air around Beijing for the Olympics a few years back and that's just in recent history so you can just stop.

If you want to know about Wooly Rhinos its not really clear what happened to them and climate change most likely played a factor. Though if you look at the Americas the megafauna got absolutely bodied when humans migrated over here. Nobody has denied that the climate can and has changed "naturally" anyway.

That 99% of all species things is both a guess and kinda bullshit either way. What makes us special is that unlike most animals we have strong effects on the local environments intentionally and unlike any species we are capable of it on a global level.
