I have proposed this before, but I like to work it out a little.
What I really would like to see is a thread which lists all open multiplayer-threads, sorted after categories. I guess this soon could get quite confusing, so I like to stick to open multiplayer fantasy-threads first. Other genres could have their own threads.

The idea: Everybody will post his fantasy-based multiplayer thread with a short description and some information. If you like to join a multiplayer fantasy-thread, just look here and find all you need.

To prevent flooding, you should only post threads:
- that are open for new players anytime,
- that have at least three players involved yet,
- that already have a minimum of posts. Let us say 100 for a start.

If you post your thread here, include this information:
- the link where to find it (including online- and sexual-roleplaying)
- the link to the ooc-thread, if there is one.
- the terms of joining (PM first, direct posting)
- rules (for example restrictions of allowed characters, use of npc, etc)
- short descriptions (for example: knights defending a castle against giant ants, etc.)
- comments (can be added by anyone, if not to long)

Dividing out by genre would take up far too many stickies.
There's already the "Existing Threads Looking for Players", and the thread asks posters to clarify what the thread is...

Fantasy as in, swords and sorcery, elves, dwarves, and wizards and such?

@Veroe: Yes. All that swords & sorcery stuff, tolkien, D & D, etc.

@Mephistophelily: I am aware of the thread, but I am looking for something different, because the search thread just keeps flowing and flowing with bumping, remarks, single threads, etc. and it is impossible to follow.
What I have in mind is just an updated list with open multi-player threads to give some orientation that you wont find in the searching thread.

Maybe I should retitle my idea as "List of all open multiplayer-threads".

Meph is kind of right, if the 'searching for roleplayers'/'existing threads looking for players threads' (they're the same thing, really, they are) were to be split for this and made in to a sticky, then it would be split for everything and they would all get their own sticky, and that’s too many stickies.

That said, I don’t think there’s anything that stops this thread from being, apart from the fact that I doubt that there’s enough threads like what you describe to warrant it
