End of the Day
Ever had a day where
you go out of your way
put promises in play
shower favors here and there,
but in the end, it all unravels
what you thought would get you thanks
brings a laugh to someone's flanks
a wicked smile rewards your travels.
But you take it with a shrug
satisfied with what you've done
walk it off, regrets be gone,
just when someone pulls your plug.
You find out your car's been towed
and you call, but there's no answer
all your doubts redouble like cancer.
You decide to take the bus, cowed
to see your good deeds punished.
You come home to find your keys
aren't with you, won't you please
give me a pinch, can I be vanished
like a raindrop from a windshield
like a momentary glare
like a kid without a care
let my mind at once be healed.
Justice? Fairness? No such thing
shake a head, ironic smile
don't decieve yourself, let bile
bubble down, chance rules as king
Bitterness, (for heaven's sake)
if you think even to appeal
to a purpose which you feel
reigns above the mortal ache
You decieve yourself and blunder
trying to find a reason where
chance rules king. Yet I dare
to lapse in wonder
at the ironies in life
do one better, look at yonder
there, imagination future meets. Gander
long, and opportunities grow rife.

A Phone Call Away
Your friend decides to reach out and touch you
Just as you turn on the shower,
you've stepped in, grabbed the shampoo, smells of flower
waft as you open the bottle, *ring*and you prick up your ears
hand full of soap, you strain to listen, machine answers the call
ears are wet, you track water all over, running and bound to fall
He's sorry you're not there, an opportunity is passing you by
the gang's got tickets, there's a place out of town
by the lake, where girls wear not a frown
You slap the reciever, almost tumbling over the cat
but all your "hello"'s are met by an empty tone,
cat got your tongue? You feel like breaking the phone.
There's *69, but instead you flipper back to the shower
mad at yourself for acting the fool
shower's a mess, you're feel like a tool.

I love to rhyme
anytime
as for the shceme
I would never dream
of limiting my art
to such a simple start
sometimes I do deviate
into a different design
the monotony to allieviate
I might rhyme every other line

Nothing would be more pleasing,
Than to post past one hundred this evening,
But not by means artificial
Just legitimate and official.
If I have something witty to say
Then I'll leave my mark here this day
But rather than some mindless drivel
I'll wait, perhaps sob and sniffle
And by weeks end you can be sure
I hope it will cause quite a stir
The picture I use on the Net
My avatar will then be set.
