AH Gym- motivation and support thread!

I felt flippin gross at work today. As soon as I can get my knee working right enough that I can do some serious working out, I'm GONNA DO IT! I started sit ups three nights ago and I've kept it up til now. Good, right? I hope. I'm tired of feeling fed up with myself...

Pilates- I highly recommend it.

Yep...I was thinking about signing up for a class this summer...

You can buy a dvd and do it at home, too. :) If you need suggestions, I'd be happy to give you a few. I have way too many exercise videos/dvds.

Lol well send me a tape then! :D

Well, I can't send you my very favorite but I highly recommend Crunch Pick Your Spot Pilates. It's been out a bit, so you can find it for less than $10 (check deepdiscountdvd for example). That's a really good beginner pilates workout.

Awesome...thank you sweetie...I will. :rose:

Crim, you must be wrong. There is no way you need to lose over 100 pounds judging by that photo.

We don't want no Crim Stick!

ROFL! I have my own smiley now.

Seriously though... I'm bent forward in the pic, so you're mostly just seeing my big boobs, lol. My arms are really kind of small for someone of my weight. I have a friend who weighs at least 40lbs less than me, and her upper arms are bigger than mine (and it's not muscle either). Most of my weight is in my tummy (gee, I wonder why after having 4 kids), hips, thighs, and ass, though my lower legs are not that small either.

And yes... I do need to lose 100 more pounds. Even that would put me on the HIGH end of normal (142) for my height

The entire year he'll be gone, I'm going to kick my own ass into shape six ways to Sunday so I can shock the shit out of him when he returns. Then the hot, flexible acrobatic sex will ensue. ;)

Been reading and it sounds like you're doing great crimmy.

My drastic weight loss has slowed down a bit, but I did knock off a couple more inches to my waist and hips, and this time it didn't just migrate north, *giggles*. But my weight is holding firm as the inches drop. I'm still about 45lbs from my goal, but only 2 dress sizes away. :)

Thoughts...

The biggest problem I had when I moved was that I live with people who have a car and I started riding everywhere. When I was walking...EVERYWHERE, it kept the weight off drastically. So I've began walking again which really doesn't bother me, especially since it's getting so nice outside.

I'm trying to stay away from the unneccesary sugars and fats...drinking lots of water and eating fruits and veggies for snacks after work...

So tomorrow, I get paid, and as soon as I cash my check, pay what I need to pay and buy a heating pad, I'm going to find a couple good exercise videos...one pilates and some other one too...

I'm going to do this. I can do this.

Next goal: quit smoking.

Good goals, SIMA. If you need a very basic exercise video that's sorta like walking, try Lesline Sansone (she has lots and lots of walking-like videos that are good for beginners and coming back from injury) or George Foreman's walking videos. I expected them to be cheesy and they kinda are, but I like both of them.

I've got that one. I really need to get back to it.

Those sound like the right kind of exercise videos for me...considering I've been through back problems, have shin splints, and am currently worrying about my new knee injury. (I'm worried there will be a lasting problem from it...)

Can I find these at Walmart or somewhere similar?

Probably. It's hit and miss with what Walmart carries, but I've seen them all there at one time or another. Target has a good selection of exercise videos too.

See, this is good, because I have to go to either Target OR Walmart tonight.

:D

Other notes to myself: Although I walked to AND from work today, and then walked with Luna to cash our checks, I felt like I cancelled it out with the itty bitty bit of chocolate I ate today. *sigh*

When you get cramps...what does anyone recommend in place of the sweet stuff that takes care of the cravings just as well?

I can't help you with that cuz even tho I exercise, I still allow myself to have occasional treats. For me, total denial of all good food just makes me give up.

This is mostly just an excuse to post a photo of my dinner (yes, I take pictures of my meals,) but is also a great idea for anyone who is low carbing it and not in the mood for a salad. Portobella crusted pizza w/partly skimmed mozza: (Works as sloppy joe and burger buns as well.)

*groans* God, that looks good! It's so pretty that it's almost a shame to eat it.

Thanks! (Though I must admit I didn't feel any remorse afterward. ;) )

I  mushrooms!
