Ok. Tonight my lady and I performed "the deed". I notice upon pulling out that at the top of my condom( spermicidally lubricated) is a wad of "love juice". Now I pulled out before I came and I came into this rubber and I don't know why some seeped out onto me. I am hoping none got into her. My girlfriend is not able to start her Birth control until has her period this month. SHe used to be on birth control anyway to regulate her periods cause according to her they are on some fucked up cycles and if it is late to not be to worried. Also I know it is 4 days before the period and 4 days after that the woman is most suseciptable( sp?) to pregnancy and she is not near these days. Yeah I know I am worrying a lot but as much as my girlfriend and I love each other the last thing we need right now is a kid. Maybe I am overeacting nad I hope I am but ya gotta understand...I am a worry wart. Thanks for any honest advice. Peace

It is to my understanding that most condoms now contain some type of spermicide for just such occurances.

Don't sweat it. There is nothing you can currently do about it so forcer yourself not to worry. The odds sound very slim for pregnancy.

A little late for advice, perhaps, so for now the best I can offer is try not to stress out. Too late for a spermacide, but if you're having issues with condoms it would certainly be prudent to hold off until her contraceptives have ramped up to an effective level.

yeah we decided to hold off on intercourse until her birth control kicks in. I mean i love her ....not just having sex with her. All I really need is her and if I need to get off I always got the hand ya know?

for the record the condom had spermicide in it, but I know all that does is reduce the sperm cells....but hey that is better then nothing. Thanks guys. !

Just remember that it could take up to a month before the birth control "kicks in". Make sure you keep wearing those condoms till at least then.

Also a woman can get pregnant besides the 4 days before and after her period. I think the chance is slim though...try not to worry so much...it's bad for ya ;)

Are you leaving an empty space at the end of your condom??? That may have something to do with it. You know a man "drips" during the whole time you're having sex...that could be what the "wad of love juice" was from. :)

I'm no doctor, nor am I a woman, but I thought these were the safest days to go bareback. Just before and right after. I always thought the greatest chance was between 12-20 days after her period starts. Of course it can occur at any point in the cycle but what ever happened to the rythym method? Ladies chime in with your opinions here. I'm curious now.

The time of ovulation is a specific number of days BEFORE her period begins. I seem to remember 14 days but don't put much faith in that.

But the problem is, you have to count back from the start of memses and if her periods are irregular, then its very chancy and unreliable to try and count days.

I am curious why it is assumed that the fluid on the outside was semen. I would hope that the female in this was lubricated and enjoying herself. Typically that would be all over the guy's pubes and whatever else comes into contact with her vulva during sex.

Of course, this is just the voice of my own experience speaking here. I might not be the average female.

As far as ovulation, in healthcare, the first 10 days from onset are referred to as the "10 day rule" meaning that in the first 10 days, we don't have to worry about a young'en while treating a childbearing-age patient.

Damn, the last time I had a scare like this I was in Europe and had access to the morning after pill. Do we have anything like that in the States that you can get from a doctor? I haven't had this problem in ages, so I don't know the current state of this situation.

Just what I was going to suggest, having just had to take it myself after a busted condom.

I just went to the pharmacy, and bought the morning after pill. It is 85% effective, so I just hope I'm on the big odds side here...

Do you really not have this in the states? Seems unlikely, as your health care system beats ours hollow usually..

emergency contraception

We don't have the morning after pill, as it is known in Europe, but we have access to the exact same thing, known here as emergency contraception. It consists of a strong dose of hormones - and comes in 2 pills - AND - must be taken within 72 hours since conception MAY have occured. After 72 hours, it is not at all effective. Any woman in the US can find EC at most clinics, including Planned Parenthood. The avg. price, at around $25 is hefty, and should discourage anyone from relying on this form of contraception on anything resembling a regular basis. Besides, it totally messes up your system for a week or two - irregular bleeding, cramps, stuff like that. It is available for when we need it most - during emergencies. If you haven't heard about it, ask your doctor, or look it up on the internet.
Hope this is helpful -

Some facts (we talk here for woman with a regualar cycle):

-cycle is around 28 days

-Ovulation occurs about 14-16 days before women have their period (not 14 days after the start of
their period)

-A woman can become pregnant only after ovulation. The egg stays alive for about 24 hours once released from the ovary. Sperm can stay alive inside a woman's body for 3-4 days (but possibly as long as 6-7 days). That's why a woman can get pregnant for about one week in her cycle

Menstrual Myths (every woman is different)

-Every woman's cycle is or should be 28 days long
-Every woman will or should bleed every month
-Every woman will or should ovulate every cycle
-If a woman bleeds, she is not pregnant
-A woman cannot ovulate or get pregnant while she is menstruating
