Adapting Genuis

I was watching a movie that is a loose adaptation of one of the great works. I do this now and again and though I enjoy the movie I almost always want to see the play or read the book of the original. Does this happen to anyone else? Right now I could use a really good version of "Taming of the Shrew."

I actually managed to watch the two towers without wanting to reach for the book, and read it for the umpteenth time.
