I am a Mountain. I don't know how to put this concept into words.

I think the stolidity, solidity, and steadfastness of the mountains, compared to the variations of the ocean, from calm and peaceful to raging fury (hurricanes, etc.), was what caused me to go with the mountain. For me, one of the essences of PYL-hood is to be consistent, strong, solid. But that's just my $.02 - ymmv.

And with correction of my brainfart in my original response, we (Marquis, Seduce) all three have the same answers - but since I'm older than either of you, I win.

Now - what's my prize?

I chose red cause it's my favorite color. Black is my second favorite, though.

I actually had no decision on shapes, so I 'inka binka'd it.

I chose director, because I'm lousy when I'm the center of attention. It gives me the giggles like you would not believe.

Gazelle cause I'm not a predator.

The Ocean cause I prefer the Ocean to the Mountains. I live in the Willamette Valley, their are mountains EVERYWHERE.

On You or them, I also just randomly chose one.

I chose sugar, cause I prefer sweet foods over salty foods.

And Nail, cause i love to be hammered.

Well, judging from the fact that most of my answers were similar to Marquis'.. I guess I'm a PYL in a pyl body. *laughs* Which is kind of true about my personality and thought processes. I'm not actually very surprised that I came out on the aggressive and controlling end of things.. that's very me.

I didn't expect so many responses so soon.

This little experiment could probably have been better designed, but I came up with these questions in like ten minutes.

It is my hypothesis that there are some base level differences in perspective between PYL's and pyl's and I was hoping to draw correlations from seemingly distant questions. One of my majors in college was Marketing. We learned how to break people down into demographics with several identifiable characteristics or mine data to find unusual correlations.

For example, if you watch Fox News, you're more likely to drive an American car. Therefore, it would make more sense for Ford's advertisements on that network to focus on brand management than capturing new sales.

Although the best test would be to give totally random questions, get a tremendous amount of responses and input them into a program designed to calculate statistics for surveys, I will tell you the idea behind these questions for me.

My answer is Black. Like most of these questions, the answer comes from deep inside me, but I can rationalize it to a degree. Red is a color of love and passion, and black to me seems more dark and mysterious. We are all obviously a bit of each, but it was my misguided guess that PYL's would identify more with the Black side of their personality and pyl's with the Red.

I am a Triangle. Circle seems to indicate flexibility while a Triangle seems to suggest structure. A circle is the same no matter how you look at it, and contains no lines.


Are you the Director or the Star?

I knew this one would be a curveball, but I was trying to keep my intentions from being obvious. Although I take great pleasure in both roles, I am more naturally the director. I want to be in control and I want my vision to come to life. It's my theory that deep down inside subs are all attention whores anyway.

I am the Cheetah. Both animals are fast and graceful, but I am a predator, plain and simple. I'm surprised to see so much disparity in this question.

Both of course, but the simplest answer is that it is about me.

Salt. Sugar makes things taste sweet, but salt tends to amplify something's natural taste, good or bad. Much of this is conceptual as well.

Those are all my initial answers before reading the thread. Most are self-explainatory. I chose mountain because I'm strong. I chose hammer because I'm the one who gets things done in my family.

Interesting concepts and thanks for relieving our braincells. For me the circle, apart from the fact I love curves far more than angles, is flowing, seemingly infinite and without sharp interruption in its line, easily moved, embracing. I am fairly close to defining mountain and ocean as Sir W does.....mountain is solid, can have subtle changes which may not appear openly until long after they happen if at all, always there - dependable, mixture of safe and dangerous.....ocean I think of as muteable, strong, variety of emotions and reactions, moved by forces around it, calming, moving. LOL, for me as prety as a gazelle is I had to go with cheetah as apart from the speed and grace you mentioned, they represent strength and intelligence, 2 qualities I like to think of as associated with pyl's. As to the star or director.....lol, I went with director simply because I hate being the centre of attention.

Our opinion on mountains is quite alike. But you found ocean to be variable and hysteric, while I consider it incoherent and disordered.

Since the three of us have the same answers, I suppose that should imply we have alike personalities.

Considering the mathematical possibility of combinations of answers and since they are gathered form many different mind fields, I didint think it was very plausible that two people would give all the same answers.

Well, I wouldnt say that mountains just sit there. They are full of life and mysteries just as well as the ocean is.

With one big difference - ocean is not suitable environment for our kind.

Leave me anywhere in the mountains and I will survive and probably find a way home.
But leave me in the middle of the ocean and I can only swim around for a while and then get drowned....... just like any human being would.

I'm with you on the Ocean/Mountain thing and I notice that our answers only differ on two questions and final label so I'm inclined to agree with you that it's more of a general personality indicator than an indicator of place in the sexual hierarchy.

The Director/Star question was hard for me. I like the limelight. I thrive on audience approval and I'm confident in my abilities, but at the same time, I'm very concerned that things as a whole go according to my plan and vision. When watching others' productions I often see weaknesses of performance but usually my idea of fixing things is to take control of the whole production and give better direction than to take on any specific role myself. When I was younger my thought was generally "I could have done a better job with that line or that role" etc., but as I've gotten older my megolamania has grown to the point where it's not a challenge to out-perform a weak actor, the challenge is in getting a strong performance from that actor.

Of course, I'm still off getting my weekly fix of crowd attention so maybe I should've just gone with the Arctic Stranger answer and said "Both"


Hammer/Nail: I noticed that most people either specifically chose Hammer or specifically did not choose Hammer rather than specifically choosing Nail. IOW, most people who chose Nail did so because they couldn't imagine themselves in their view of the Hammer's role not because they necessarily identified with Nail.

The Nail represents to me sharpness and focus with the purpose and strength to bring and hold things together.......for whatever that's worth. ;->

Going back over my answers and the reasoning behind them

red: I love all warm colours, I am frightened of the dark so I never choose black

Triangle: pyramids have Spiritual connatations for me, the psychological choice relates to wanting to move upwards (Maslows Hierarchy of Need) towards self-actualisation as oppose to going round in circles.

Director: Submission is not always easy for me, I like to know what is happening and going to happen next.

Cheetah: I am never going to be slim enough to be the gazelle, again psych choice, I relate to the cheetahs camouflage in many aspects of my life.

Ocean: I am a moveable person, I see moutains as solid upright whereas the ocean can be a number of moods all on one day.

Them: relates not just to him, but to me as a person. I always want to care for people and make things better. If I could wave a magic wand...

Salt: I will never be sweet or nice enough to be sugar.

Hammer: Actually this was the hardest to answer, i don't like hurting people but equally I am past being stamped on.

pyl: because despite all my assertive behaviour I am a ply, but its by choice not because I am too trmapled on to be anything else.
