I am looking for some.

But the problem I am finding is that the websites are recommending the same titles over and over.

So my question is:

Do you have any recommendations for me?

I found two that I really want.

Learning the Ropes A Basic Guide to Safe & Fun S/M Love Making by Race Bannon

Extreme Space, The Domination and Submission Handbook

If I can find them cheaply (hey I am on a budget) then I will get them.

Have your read....

S&M 101
Different Loving
Screw the Roses
The Sleeping Beauty series by Anne Rice (writing as A. N. Roquelaure or something like that)

BTW- if you run across Bondage by Patty Davis, don't buy it. It is not about bondage and it sucks as a 'nilla novel.

-Vv

The Mistress Manual good beginners book
Erotic Bondage Handbook great rope technique

Topping From Below & Panic Snap.... both "dark" stories of not totally consenusal BDSM -can't remember the author.

Thank you very much,VV and The one who cannot be named, for the ideas.

I am going to go look for them.

Love that guest name. ;)

'The Bottoming Book' is short, but a good read. I didn't get a lot out of Different Loving except some insight into the different edge kinks. Screw the Roses has a lot of info about bdsm hardware.

Thank you.

My list is getting bigger, and I'm getting poorer.

Do ya'll think they have them at the library? ;)

I want to know more details everything.

The part about being a sub, naturally. I believe that there is alot I am missing, and I just want to know what it is.

But I would like to understand the Dom part, too. Call me curious, but I would like to know in more details that side of it.

I would also like to get a good grasp on how to do alot of different scenes without ending up hurt,as I have not done alot of it yet.

I would really like to go further than what we are doing, but I would like to know how to do it first.

Am I making any sense?

I searched all over yesterday and there were only 5 to 10 real books. They were just named over and over again.

I just wanted to know if there were more out there that I may not be seeing.

Makes Perfect Sense

There are lots of books.

I discovered Greenery Press which publishes a lot of alternative books.

Also there is a Venus Bookclub, that has a lot of books on S&M, sex, etc. If you like bookclubs.

*** I also would recommend all of the above. (The Anne Rice series...not informational but very, very HOT!). I especially liked Screw the Roses, informative with humor.
Another good one is Consensual Sado-Masochism by Henkin and Holiday.
One to skip unless you are a gay male (very specific info): Leathersex by Joseph Bean

The Art of Spanking Milo Minaro

the text is pretty hot and the drawings are erotic

yes........Anne Rice wrote "The Beauty Series" as A.N. Rolequare.....and it was very very erotic..........there were 3 books i believe........and they all were quite good.......lots of fantasy...... extreme power exchange stuff.......and you can actually see the "growth" of the heroine from one book to another....highly recommended.....

Anne Rice also wrote "Exit To Eden" (which was made into a movie with Dan Ackroyd and Rosie O'Donnell).......this book starts out real good but dies in midstream..........almost looks like 2 parts written by different people.......

an oldie but goody for BDSM fantasy is "The Story of O" by Pauline Reage.......and its sequel "Return to the Chateau"....very erotic stuff written half a century ago.......

hope ya find that helpful, LTR........ :rose:

Well, sort of. The trouble with books is that they tend to cover what the author is interested in, not what you want to know. And material in books gets outdated quickly (although some safety basics, obviously, stay the same).

I've been doing this stuff for years (another sub here) but I still discover new kinky activities all the time. The way I find them is by reading online fiction or looking at porn. Then, when I find something that's hot and if I have a question about the safety of a particular activity (or even whether it's practical) I'll ask somebody I trust who's more experienced than me (yeah, a few of them exist out there ;). If you don't have such a person, the next best thing is to ask a group like this, and weigh the information carefully, based on who's telling you the info. and their past reliability in factual matters and on what seems to fit good common sense to you. I don't think you'll have any trouble determining that: you seem like a sensible person to me. (Not flattery--I have a nose for that sort of thing, lol.)

For what it's worth, my own area of expertise is submissive emotions and psychology. I'm especially knowledgable about the emotional risks submissives face in various situations, so if you have any questions in that area, don't hesitate to grab me.

Regards,
Unda

PS: While we're on the subject of books, I find the Laurel Hamilton Vampire Executioner series of books pretty hot in terms of power dynamics. The female heroine of these books is not a submissive, but the males around her are always trying to top her in very sexy ways. You can find her books in the Horror section of the bookstore. They are fast and entertaining reads, and the main female character, while not submissive, is a delightful and quirky personality. But when you read these books as a submissive, you find yourself gnashing your teeth at all the delicious and sexy opportunities she passes up becuase she's not into that weird stuff.

ahhh...okay.....

i understand..........i havent read that book (SM 101) by Jay Wiseman...but i heard it is "a bible" of sorts in the BDSM community....

you might also find interesting several books by his wife, Janet Hardy, who, until recently wrote her books under the name Catherine A. Liszt ..........."The Ethical Slut" is one of them.....all about Polyamory, which she and Jay practice..........

hhmmmm....maybe next order?

happy reading!! :rose:

Oh and by the way, LovestoRead, I forgot to say in my last message that I can really relate to you what you said about wanting to know what the dom feels. To me, personally, it's very hot to think about what my partner is experiencing when he beats me or humiliates me. It's almost as if I have a "little sadist" inside of me who is only interested in torturing myself, and who gets off on knowing that my partner is relishing that torture too. Imagining what the dominant is experiencing or feeling makes me even hotter.

To me, it would be no fun to be with a dominant who was doing it "just to please me" and who didn't find it hot in and of itself in someway.

In my experience, most dominants like to know about what their submissives are feeling "in the moment" too, as our feelings or terror, pain, confusion, arousal in spite of ourselves, humiliation, frustration, etc. excite them similarly.

I have the Ethical Slut. It is a very good book, for those who struggle with issues like jealousy. Even if you are not poly.

i haven't read the book, Ms Ebony, but i attended a lecture by Janet Hardy on the subject of polyamory at TES30 last summer which was fantastic!......she and Jay have certainly dealt with the jealousy issue in their marriage, and actually encourage each other to seek variety........she says they sincerely take pride in each others happiness, even tho they may not be directly providing the "stimulation" in every instance.....

quite impressive, although not for everyone........that is for sure.........

nice to see You again, Ms Ebony :rose:

Question

Where is a good place to find these books at.

I really have problems finding any of these books i would appreciate any help that i could get in this matter.

I maybe placing a christmas wish list with Master for a few of them we will see i guess.
