A "warning"?

I didn't know where to post this so I apologize if it's not in the right section.
I received a very weird email, almost scary! Someone "warned" me that the wife of a man I never even spoke to (yes we did exchange emails; he wanted some sound clips of me to mix in the audio story he was recording but we never had cyber/phone sex! never even talked about anything but what kind of sounds he wanted) might try and trick me. Like she'd get online and use what I say in court! Of course the email was anonymous - sent through anonymous feedback. Now I'm truly scared; maybe I'm just paranoid but I'm worried this person, whoever it is, might go crazy on me. I don't really have a specific question and I know there's nothing I can do since it was anonymous but boy am I freaked! Something like that ever happened to you?

You got an email from someone sending you 'anonymous feedback' on Lit? And in that email you were warned that the wife of a man on Lit might try to trick you? Trick you to do what? What court?

I'm a little confused, but I'd suggest sending that email to Laurel. Maybe they can block the IP address it came from or something. Or maybe you should send it to the man you were helping with the audio if it's his wife in question.

Calm. Crazier.

Go completely batshit in response, beyond crazy, to convince said crazy person that you are completely beyond their comprehension of eyeballs in a jar under the sink.

Or convince them that your lawyer could so beat up their lawyer.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. I'd send the man in question a copy of the threatening email to alert him to it as well. I'd also just be extra cautious in answering any pms or emails from people you don't know or have talked to before. You've done nothing illegal that could get YOU in trouble..so don't worry. Unfortunately it sounds like the guy has some explaining to do with his wife though!!

I think going totally batshit is always a good idea. Especially if it involves bing eating...

Oh right, anyways. I've gotten some negative feedback for stories I've written, but nobody has ever threatened to sue me for a really terrible story...that would be really cool though, and next time I tell the wife I suck as an author I'd have evidence to back it up, instead of just a shimmering desire for sympathy sex. Never works though...

Red888 has said what I would have --- you've done nothing wrong. But, just be aware because even though you haven't done anything wrong the Internet can be a screwy place and people will fabricate things. Contact Laurel is a good thought.
