A rhyme in time

The length of my caring
Can not be measured
But by sharing
It can be treasured

Overjoyed

can one be overjoyed
find comfort in another
trying to not be anoyed
without felling smothered

castle

A castle sits on a misty isle
The towers in ruin, the stones in piles
The people have gone, it's been awhile
Since life was here on this misty isle.

Imagination

A fertile imagination sows the seeds of unborn dreams,
Creativity is the plow, and hope -- the oxen teams,
Encouragement is sunshine, and ambition is the water,
The sum of these components is a poet's needed fodder.

parsnip

Silly little mouse
Stole a parsnip
Tought he'd carve a house
Instead he made a ship

Rutabaga

Rutabaga

One rutabaga, two rutabaga, three rutabaga, four.
Elvis was decapitated by a revolving door.
Who would win, the smurfs or snorks, if they got in a fight,
I think the mom from "Home Improvement"'s ass is very tight.

oyster

The Oyster is a symbol of lust, or fertility,
I know not whichm, but dies it matter?
cause for me, pursuing sex equals futility
lust imagined equals dreams to shatter

mirror

Mirror, mirror,
on the wall,
who's the fairest
of them all ---fully plagerized

Mirror mirror
Of my mind,
Reflecting all
my hopes, be kind! --mine

reclamation

Reclamation implies rehabitiation, or restoration
a rebuilding, a fresh start, rejuvenation
In this fall season, feeling old
shivering in the wind, feeling cold
we can all use this breath of fresh youth
the idea of new , replacing "long in the tooth"
but not replacing, as in discarded
done with grace, no longer disregarded
refreshed , glowing brightly , shiny like new
it could be me, it could be you

KiKi I can't rhyme but I wanted to come in and tell you what a great thread you have! I'll be back to see what I can do if I see an easy word. LOL ((hugs))

So where's the next word???

Friction is what I cause
when I forget to pause
and admire my rhyme
and fail to take some time
to impose
a word, for the next to compose

However

For TAKEMEE

Poetry doesn't always rhyme, however
While this thread requires it.
The connecting word can appear wherever
You want it to sit.

-----------------------------totally without meter
next word.

Saskatchewan

Sakatchewan may not be the Midlde of nowhere
as my perasonal asserts, that's right about here
but it is pretty remote,
a lonely place I bet
if Lit is the nature of passion to which youe are devote
do you have high speed modems yet?

Sign

driving down the street
I happened upon a sign
It told me where I could eat
so I took the turn to go dine.

(sheeesh lol)

WATER

Water is the stuff of life
Upon which nature builds
When it's scarce, it makes strife
And that's when nature kills

Tiger

Tiger, tiger , burning bright?
No, I think that was Blake
am I right?
he was a real poet
and I, a mere fake
with each humble rhyme, I show it.

And here I bet you thought I'd work in tigerjen
I guess you'd win your wager, then

Light

A beacon of light
Shines in my heart
A friend shone bright
And did the dark part

I bear the loss of yet another
Who gave his word to me
Now I'm sad, he did not bother
To keep his word you see

crying

crying

i reach across your cheek
to catch a tear
and stop the streak
crying will not stop the fear

holding

My arms are holding
Naught but air
There's no use scolding
There's no one there

empty

empty

empty is not your soul
empty is not your heart
we know your soul is full
and it is in your heart from the start

moon

As I watch the moon rise
The stars begin to shine
Bright colors fill the sky
and I know that it's night time.

moon

The moon looks down
Upon the glade
Where stands a heart broke
And lonely maid
It sees her weeping
As her soul dies
It's vigel keeping
As still she lies
