A question of cologne...

I think this is a question subs could answer best, but Doms might also have some ideas to offer.

I've heard that, when it comes to first impressions, the way a man smells is very important to a woman. So, on that, what scent would you choose that best suits a Dom?

What smells great on one man can smell horrible on another.
It all has to do with your body chemistry and her preferences.

I happen to love Stetson on my sub. He's been stopped quite a few times and asked what scent he has on so I assume others like it too.

Gray Flannel smells great on my little brother but is horrible on my daughters boyfriend.

If you are going for a "daddy" things Old Spice or Brut are cheap standards

Smell is one of things you can't really put a finger on. Depending on if the person uses anti-bacterial or perfumed soaps, scented deodorant....etc. The perfumes all smell different.

I've always liked preferred stock and laugerfield because they smell a little spicy, but then again, i've smelt them on different men and they were horrible.

I think if you go to a makeup counter (Dillards, Sears...etc) they can now do an acidity test that will tell you which scents will react the LEAST to your body chemistry....so which ones will smell the same on you as in the bottle.

I don't think there's any one difinitive answer here. The same as with anything, use what you like and what flatters you.

With men I've dated, they have their own "personal" smell...a combination of their natural body chemistry, whatever soap, shampoo or laundry products they use, their environment, all of that. You either like that particular person's scent or you don't. No amount of cologne or anything else is going to make you smell "better" if a perspective partner doesn't like your personal scent. It's all about pheromones...we're just animals with thumbs and big brains.

My Master can't wear any scents because I'm allergic to them, they give me an instant splitting headache, my sinuses start to clog, not a pretty sight I assure you.

Something to think about, anyway. I happen to prefer just the natural clean smell of a man. I tend to think if he's heavily perfumed then maybe he's not that clean. Just the way my brain thinks. No offense meant to those who like this kind of thing

I just thought i'd chime back in and say I think a man just out of the shower is sexy as hell and smells delicious. I hate to admit it but once I thought about it I've decided Irish Spring is one of my favorite male scents. Go ahead, laugh...I'm a goon

go to a perfumania

try on different scents and when you find a complement that you like or smells good on you they can suggest others similar to that blend.

Perfumes are very individual. Master and I spent about 2 hours smelling perfumes, cleansing the nose with coffee beans, a neutral and so on, until we found one that we liked.

Otherwise you can have one mixed just for you.


Or as others have said take a shower, use a nice scented soap and lotion and you will smell great!


I just think that cologne shows me the men who are willing to go the extra step in taking care of themselves.

and...just for thought I still remember my first date with him not because it was so special but he smelled so great with polo on.

I agree with you totally on this. I seem to have a very heightened sense of smell. Funny enough just talking about this yesterday. But I do prefer the freshly showered scent. Soap and lotion...but if I had to choose. I love the scent of Obession (that doesn't look like I spelt it right).

I love a man that smells great...and S'Real is the best smelling man that I have had the pleasure of being close to *s*. My hubby (separated) always smelt bad...so it is such a treat now for me to be with someone who knows what hygiene is all about.

i love essential oils.....patchouli drives me wild!! i like it to be just a hint.....barely there. For me, anyone who uses too much is as bad as not bathing on a regular basis.

I think the smell of Drakkar Noir is heavenly. It is very masculine and (to me) heady. Otherwise I have to agree with the other women who liked the "fresh out of the shower" smell. yummy!

My choices are Drakkar, Preferred Stock and the fresh shower...
my man wears the new Speed Stick Lightning deodarant....which I love also....goes great with his newly washed clothes!
