A Poet Walks Into a Bar . . .

sorry, njoyjade, i missed your post.
glad you like the ambience
do you play the piano? it has a dead key but that just makes for more interesting renditions :rose:

what wood makes the prettiest blaze? the one that burns cerise new one, crackerjack!and blue at its heart, red-gold over brown-black at its edges, with wispy pale grey curls of ash that flake and crumble at a touch.
is it heartwood that burns unlike no other
set afire by some sweet lover that knows no malice
only the secret of spontaneous combustion ignited by some magic word.

We could start a glee club! :D
..
Well I'm certainly giddy enough
so giddy up Tess. Your forte as I remember, recited poem? Make a track;. Annie can voice over. this sounds so much like Karaoke . not a big fan of that. NM

I can sing :)
yay! what do you enjoy singing, annie?

We could start a glee club! :D
*whoa! - looks around bar at the regulars and tries hard NOT to imagine them in 'Let's Get Physical' outfits and dancing that routine...*

perhaps so

*holds hands out to the flames, trusting not to get burnt*

..
there's so much I've missed...

oh Annie?
.
impossible to post in Live after this you may have to give it a nudge *blinks*
it's to do with a brit tv kids' show back in our childhoods

maybe i should take that and clean it up some. *sighs*
anyways, it's just poemy stuff.

*Awakes in the empty bar, covered by a blanket; just coals are left in the hearth. Rises, goes to the restroom, and when he looks in the mirror, there is the lipsticked remains of a kiss on his forehead*

any brits might be going off the radar sunday-monday?
i'm referring to the pretty big storm headed our way which may or may not get as bad as the October 1987 hurricane-stylee one.

my only real concern for my n&d's is that the field maple in my front garden has grown quite a lot this year . . . and the phone lines run amidst the branches that give it a bit of welly in any windy conditions. if things get bad, the branches might take the lines right out for a few houses.

welly? should I add that to my dictionary?

yes, yes you should

wellies = wellington boots = gumboots(?) - rubber boots, anyway

but

to 'give it a bit of welly' means to apply some considerable physical force

right? :D

:D I like it! coming soon to a poem near you. :cattail:
Ahem...
..
Her eyes were deep wellys battering down defenses well laid
and when the man fell to his knees, it's hard to say who's saved

hahahaha

annie will be snorting gin out her nostrils over that one :D
i'm not sure it translates well (even if i get your meaning) - it kind of reads (to brit eyes) as 'her eyes were empty rubber boots - the sort made for very tall people''

hahahahahaha

as to the rest

oy :catroar:

Glad to amuse *Gets Jester costume out of the closet then walks around the room with a tinkling of little bells*
Well I'm ready for Samhain.

the sentiment behind the phrase, though, that was summat. *nods* ty

i knew you'd remember it :D

give us some Bohemian Rhapsody, woman!

I can't stand that song along with I'm not in love and Band of gold ........ I don't know if this will work but if it does I'm the second voice (the first female one) and the highest one in the chorus. It's a bit of nonsense they did on our local radio :)
