This is kind of embarrassing for me, but I just really wanted to thank those of you who nominated me in the Annual awards. I'm really honored.

I try to stay out of these things lately, so I hadn't known I'd been nominated till someone PM'd me, and I just read the thread today. I have to say I'm really touched, and more than a little verklempt.

I haven't been around the AH a lot lately. I started on a new anti-depressent a couple of weeks ago, and it's basically knocked the shit out of me and made me unusually stupid and kind of emotionally raw and tender. So maybe I'm overreacting, but I just had to say thanks.

And of course there'll be 5 minutes of the oral sex of your choice for votes. Simply specify whether you prefer lingham-licking or yoni-scarfing and include a self-addressed, stamped envelope. (Allow four to six weeks for delivery.)

If it makes you feel any worse, your story, The Moths Song has an early lead in the Erotic Horror category. Sorry about that.

I'll confess to being one of the folks who nominated you for "Influential Writer." I did so not based on your ability as a writer, although that is considerable, but your willingness to help others improve their writing. IMHO, you've been a positive influenece on a lot of scribblers. Granted, I include myself among that number, but maybe folks won't hold that against you.

I echo Colly's sentiments about the new AD. Take care of yourself. You may not be much, and are probably worth even less, but you're the only Doc we've got and it'd be too damn much trouble to hunt up another and then try to housebreak him.

I found the decision very tough this year. I'm gonna admit, publicly, that for me it was between you and Colly. I voted for Colly last year, and she won it (not only cos of my vote, obviously ).

I voted for you this year, because your influence is very wide-reaching.

One of your stories, The Doner, was the second story I read on this site. I read it even before I found the AH. It was also the first story I sent feedback on. It made such an impression on me, it encouraged me to submit my own story to the Erotic Horror category. I then found the AH. this is gonna sound like such a suck-up, but I have always admired you. You have helped so many, myself included, probably without even realising it.

So, thank you, from one aspiring writer, for all you do for so many of us, both directly and indirectly.

I read them because you are one of the best writers I know, let alone on Lit. I feel that you have a real future in writing; your style reminds me of a more-personal Stephen King. Your knowledge and willingness to help struggling young writers like myself demands acknowledgement.

I know we haven't had much personal interaction Doc, but I just want to say thank you to you. I posted a story idea earlier and you came in and gave it a very good and thorough critique. I don't care if the story gets ripped to shreads as long is it is constructive. You shown me a lot in just that little pittance of a thread on how I can improve my writing. If I can draw such inspiration and ideas, as well as improvement, from such little interaction with you, I'm sure the lives you touch regularly are significantly more blessed. Thank you again Doc.
