A little Live Messenger Help???

Ok, maybe some computer wizzies will read this.

I use Windows Live Messenger. So far, I had no problems with it.

But ever since last week, whenever I log on, it crashes and Windows tells me it detected a problem and had to quit the Messenger. Of course there is no indication as to what might be the problem (it's Windows, what did I expect?). It works fine until I log on and then always after the same ammount of time it crashes which makes me insane since I didn't alter anything,

What could be the problem and what could I do about it? I already downloaded it again and re-installed but that changed jack.

Any help?

I don't know, as I turned it off ages ago when we got these computers, as we were getting spam and it seemed like a security risk.

However, if you want to chat/cam, you can get one of the many free programs such as MSN Messenger, Yahoo or Trillian (which allows you to use every service you have a screenname with and won't confine you to chatting with those who only have one program or the other).

Well I'm certainly no techie, but the same thing happens to me. It frustrates the hell outa me because if I'm in the middle of a chat with my M, I generally lose all the converstaion we has since I last logged on.
(I like to keep the chats as I suppose a bit of a journal of our time together...that and I'm an insatiable romantic! )

Does the MSN crash after you have plugged the cam in? Thats the only time mine seems to do it. So now I try to sign off first then plug the cam in and sign back on again. It always crashes again once I've finished with the cam...so when I can I usuallygo through the same process again..signing off, removing the hardware and going back on. Having said that it still crashes.....just a bit later thats all....

Well, maybe my describtion was a little confusing. It is the MSN Live Messenger. And it always crashes right after logging on. It has nothing to do with the cam, though.

Try logging on in the safe mode, then reset the computer to the last day that it worked properly.
