Tricky Trumpy banned a CNN reporter from an event today. She is a credentialed White House correspondent. This was an open event and all other credentialed correspondents were admitted.

One hopes all the rest gave her a copy of their notes and said so publicly while including the freeze-out in their own reporting. The alternative of all the rest walking out on him would only please him. Maybe the mainstream sources should stop carrying his speeches live, though. That would irritate him.

Remember the w(R)ongturd Hoopdeedoo when BO wanted to block FAUX Snooze from news conferences and press briefings?

Nope, don't remember it. Would like to see what was reported on it at the time, though. Citations please--not just from Faux Views, though.

Assuming she is free to write anything she wants about being treated so shabbily that unarguably makes it NOT a First Amendment issue. Along with the fact Congress "shall (still) make no law ....abriding.... the freedom of the press...." And they still haven't.

Whine about something else.

I'm reminded of the time that Trump pulled the credentials from The Washington Post during the campaign. If I were a reporter on that beat, I would have organized a boycott. Even if the boycott was only shifting the coverage from Trump to the attendees at his rallies. I suspect that media master that he is, Trump would have changed his approach quickly to recover the billions of dollars of free publicity they offered him.

If I were the boycotted WaPo reporter, I would switch my coverage to Trump investigations. Well, that's what they did.

If I were today's boycotted CNN reporter, I would simply switch my coverage to Seth Abramson's Twitter feed. There's plenty of underreported material to work with there.

Somehow I think that would have the Whitehouse asking CNN to return.

The only takeaway here is that He is a cowardly little snowflake whose pettiness knows no bounds. JFK, a legitimate President, took on all comers with wit and intelligence. We will not see this for at least two more years.

If you are a boycotted reporter working for a national news organization you will cover whatever your editor tells you to cover and shut the fuck up.

Good, give her time to learn her manners, obey instructions, and maintain the proper decorum in the White House.

I am almost certain that is his privilege...

I'm sure all three of you would have been just fine had this been Obama tossing out faux news.

Hypocrites.

It wasn't a first amendment issue when Obama did it to an entire news organization, nor is this an example of a first amendment issue.

Nothing in the first amendment requires anyone whether they be a public official or a private citizen to talk with a reporter or allow them individually or collectively access.

It was not a First Amendment issue when White House press pool begrudgingly admitted that Obama was in their view the least accessible president in their lifetimes.

Assuming that they were aware that they were going to get caught and the chilling effect that it would have spying on sharyl attkisson by the Obama Administration was in fact a First Amendment issue. As was the Obama Administration actually suing reporters in order to try to get their sources.

Try again. This time with some basic knowledge about what the First Amendment entails with relation to the press..

I remember when Bush Jr. had a gay escort with no credentials in his press corps.

Remember when representative Barney Frank had his boyfriend running a male escort ring out of his office?

If you have a link to Obama kicking out fox news, I'd LURVE to see it. Thanks!

Oh, and to the bolded part too!!

This one?

snip:

In 1989 it was discovered that Barney Frank's boyfriend, Stephen Gobie, whom Frank had once hired as a male prostitute, was running a male-brothel out of the Congressman's home. Frank claimed he did not know about the prostitution ring in his home, but he did use the power of his office to "fix" 33 tickets for Gobie. And he knowingly wrote a misleading letter to Gobie's probation officer in Virginia. Frank received a "reprimand" for fixing the tickets. Gobie maintained that Frank knew about the prostitution ring operation in his home.

Btw.. not that I agree with it, just that once again you are wrong. I'm certainly not feeling "beneath you" now.

The con artist is simply following the lead of his Russian handler and suppressing the press and preventing them from doing their job.

Then again, what did one expect when he brought in the sexual harassing enabler from the Fox tabloid? The truth certainly isn't in their vocabulary and that's the way the con artist likes it.

Kind of hard to find news from that far back, but this gives a glimpse:

https://www.newsweek.com/when-obama-went-war-fox-news-632424

Thanks for the citation. I read this one but found no mention of Obama not letting an accredited White House reporter from Fox in the room. Would be interested in seeing the circumstances of that--I'm equally interested in knowing whether this is just Republican lying. If true, my response would be the same as to this instance--that it wasn't proper. I'm not receptive to whataboutism. If Obama did it, I consider it wrong then as well as now. I don't accept that in any way as mitigation of Trump doing it now. Just as every time someone brings up Bill Clinton's sexual transgression and lying about it in office (which has been brought up on the board within the last day), I don't accept that in any way as mitigation of Trump's blatant and outrageous venality now--nor is it true that I gave Bill Clinton a pass on it at the time.

Good for you! Seriously. The problem is, you are about the only person I've ever seen who uses the word critically towards conservatives who accepts the equality of the substance of the charge against Obama, Democrats, etc.

You are correct that two wrongs don't make a right. They simply make two wrongs. What too few liberals realize, however, (and you would appear to NOT be one of them) is that using the word pejoratively in reference to comparisons made by conservatives without acknowledging the truth of the comparison is just as ignorantly vacuous as the conservative who is attempting to mitigate a wrong through the USE of a comparison.

Kudos to you, at least, for not doing that.

That is as may be. I'd still take a stand that day and risk the job.

And do you have more than two examples of that happening in recent years? Like the last twenty years. Maybe there are reporters but did the organizations stop sending reporters?

don't see a first amendment issue. the government isn't suppressing speech content. she can write whatever she wants to write.
