Seattle, WA

They paused to sit on a bench in the park overlooking the water. The space needle tall against the other lights shimmered over the rippled surface like so many reflected stars. The emerald city was lit up against the night sky; its distinctive skyline glimmering yellow and gold and red in the night sky.

A steady, cool breeze rose and fell, ruffling her hair... whispering playfully at the edges of the fabric of her dress.

She sighed as she looked upon her city. The city that had called to her from affair, and the place she now made her home. The place that falls between the water and the mountains, where ferries ply the water day and night.

His attention was drawn to some deep wistfulness that played around her face.
Her eyes, green and gentle, drifted casually over the scene before them.
Her lips, slightly parted as if waiting for a kiss.
Strands of dark hair floated into her face, prompting her to push the strands behind her ear.
It was then she noticed he was not looking over the water at the skyline... at the moon rise... at the craggy cascades in he distance.

A blush rose in her cheeks. She could feel the heat rise. Embarrassed she asked him, “Why are you looking at me like that?”

He smiled, his gaze shifting to meet her eyes.
It was that moment he fell in love with her.

After a brief moment he finally replied, “Because you were made to be adored.”
