I've been sitting on an idea for awhile, mainly because I'm uncertain about it. Near every feedback I get is about how people love that I develop my characters and stories before adding the sex.
Recently, I've been considering that. What if I changed the formula around? What if the sex came first and the story and character developement after?
Whaddya think? Should I go for it?

Anything that you think would help you grow as a writer is a good thing, even if you never show it to anyone else.

Personally, I love trying new things, new categories, new genres....even if it isn't a success, usually I've learned something in the process.

Go for it!

I'm sure my opinion doesn't matter much, but I'd say go for it. At least try it out.

I'm thinking about trying the inverse of this formula...character development then sex.

I say go for it!

Luck,

If it appeals to you, do it. Why not?

It could be a lot of fun. Hot, hard, wild sex - and then a sort of flashback crossed with character development explaining how they got there and where it's going. I think in the romance genre it could be quite pleasant with a sort of bad boy male lead - female lead ends up having frantic sex with him, then trying to figure out if she's screwed all hope of something more meaningful?

I'd write it. Or rather, I'd like to see you write it. :)

I think it is worth exploring.

For example if a couple have sex without thinking about starting a relationship, and the act makes them think what if?...

Or the sex has serious consequences for their existing relationships and is a catalyst for changes they should have made earlier...

Go for it!

Relationships start in the strangest places. Having one start in bed, rather than ending there would be an interesting perspective.

I think you should go for it. I also think it may have given me an idea...
