Looking for a writer for a custom erotic story (free request)

Thank you for doing what none of us longtimers have bothered to do.

Instead we reverted to toilet humour. I'd feel a flush of embarrassemt if I wasn't so pooped.

(But seriously, well done. We should have been kinder to the OP. @Spitfires I for one apologise for not addressing your request more seriously before driving it off the rails.)
Hey, now, I tried to let this Spitefire person down gently before all the butt stuff happened!
Still, I'd be completely unsurprised if the proposed story they want turned out to be one that couldn't be published here for one reason or another.

Here is the logic or NON-LOGIC of what you are asking. You want to hire, basically for nothing an author to write a story using your ideas and characters. You have not given any real idea other than than.
What I'd suggest is you contact directly an author whose stories you like. In the genre you are thinking about. Talk to him/her about stories in general and his in particular and see if he is willing to do a collaboration.

Real life writers with even a modicum of talent are not the same as AI, you can’t just give them a couple of half baked ideas and expect a well written story for free. You’ve must have already tried that and received back something craptacular hence your phishing here.

Well, no. He's not looking to hire; that implies an exchange of money in return for a desired and valued service. He's offering to talk up the writer on Twitter, it seems. He's explicitly NOT looking to hire.

No thanks. Lol.

Your prescription is a better one: dude should be reading stories, finding things he likes, and contacting the writers. HE is the one who should be begging. Instead (not sure whether anyone noticed, or read that far), he has the temerity to demand "a bit about your writing style and experience."

No, moron. My "writing style and experience" are all over this damn site. Go do your own homework.

He's explicitly NOT looking to hire.
That's what I meant by hire for nothing.
I did do a sort of a collaboration once. The person gave me a basic idea and input along the way. She wanted the MC to basically destroy the other, but without a viable reason for the plot, I was not going to do that. She was not as happy with the end result as she could have been. The story was 'Jasmine Patel', a 42K word story that got me a 4.1 score.
I'll take suggestions for a story from friends but will not do something like that again.

Free request: While I can't offer monetary compensation, I'm happy to provide feedback or help promote your work on platforms where appropriate, if that helps!

This is what's known in the biz as "working for exposure". As in:

If you don't believe our work is worth paying for, how are you going to convince somebody else to pay for it?

The most likely consequence of accepting "exposure" in lieu of pay is getting more offers to work without pay, which is not an attractive deal. If I'm writing for free it's going to be on one of my own projects.

Why are you such an ass you would deny somebody help? I have at least two authors (presently) that contacted me in exactly that manner. They had ideas for a story. Had no idea how to begin.
Invite them to contact you, then. Don’t invite them into other people’s DMs with these requests. THAT’S what’s asinine.

Hi everyone, I hope you all are doing well.

I am reaching out because I'm looking for a writer who would be interested in crafting a custom erotic story based on a few character names and ideas that I will provide. I'm open to a variety of themes and settings, but I'm particularly looking for someone who is willing to create something unique based on my concept.

What I'm looking for:
Story length: medium length story (around 4000-5000 words), but flexible
Content: I have specific character names, a rough plot and themes (which I will provide once I connect with the author)
Tone: I'm open to a variety of tones and genres (romantic, sensual, intense)
Free request: While I can't offer monetary compensation, I'm happy to provide feedback or help promote your work on platforms where appropriate, if that helps! If you're new to writing erotica or just want to practice and have fun, this could be a good opportunity to flex your creative muscles.

What I'll provide:
Character names and descriptions
Relationship between a few characters
Some themes and kinks

If you are interested, pls reply or send me a private message with a bit about your writing style and experience. If you have any questions, pls feel free to ask!

Looking forward to hearing from the amazing community of writers at Literotica! Thanks in advance for considering my request and happy writing to all!

Best regards,
Spitfires

This.....Frances nailed this one (as below).

In general, if you want someone else to write a story for you, you pay for it. I'm working on one, off and one, in $100 installments, and all up it's likely to come in at around $5k. It's very specific to the requestor's tastes, and it's tough work. I have so much of my own stuff to write that it's a real challenge to even try and fit it in. Lucky for me or him) the the guy is very very patient, and has his fingers eternally crossed that at some point I may finish. I have another, with a published author, that I'm supposed to co-write and that's taking a long time to get off the ground - and that will pay based on sales - it's with a name author, which will generate sales, and a name publisher with a large reader base - and still I am procrastinating.

I write the odd short stories for anthologies and get paid $100 a pop for those - and that is WAY less than I should ask, but hey, anthologies get you a bit of exposure on Amazon so why not.

Seriously, no-one will write what you're asking for for free. As for flexing creative muscles, without being rude, if you're not willing to pay (and 4-5k words is a couple of days full time writing, plus lead in time, and post-draft editing - say a week, and I write like a maniac when I'm flying), you;re looking at a bare bones minimiun of $1-2k for the time invested. And THAT is El Cheapo.

My suggestions is, write it yourself. Or get an AI and do the AI thing and then edit it to suit your tastes. Much as I hate the idea of AI writers. LOL

To attempt to answer your question and also explain some of the reaction…

You have misread the room to a degree that makes me almost think it’s intentional trolling. But I will give you the benefit of the doubt.

I’ve been writing a few years and I think you are misunderstanding a few things. First about writers:
  1. Most writers have a work in progress folder full of things they want the time to finish
  2. They probably have a list of ideas jotted down somewhere too
  3. They are probably in the middle of writing one or more stories which they find compelling and can’t devote enough time to
  4. Many of us are also helping other writers by beta reading or editing or proof reading their stuff
  5. We are busy
Why would anyone drop all that and jump on your suggestion? Which gets me to the second set of misconceptions, which are about your ideas. I’ll be blunt:
  1. It’s highly doubtful that your plot ideas and characters are very good - it takes lots of experience to come up with good plots and convincing characters
  2. But maybe I’m wrong and you have a one in a million idea, but it’s just an idea
  3. Turning your ideas into even a short story takes time and effort, why would anyone do that?
  4. If your ideas aren’t compelling enough to you for you to put in the time to write them, why would anyone else?

Why are you such an ass you would deny somebody help? I have at least two authors (presently) that contacted me in exactly that manner. They had ideas for a story. Had no idea how to begin.
Well if someone actually wanted to write their own, there'd be a stack of suggestions, such as find a story you like and use that as the basis for your own. Or go take creative writing classes. Or do what the rest of us do, start writing, and invest 10 years in getting to where you're okay.

As it is, my suggestion to the dude is use an AI to do it for him. Or her.

My other suggestions are a bit ruder and mostly involve eff's LOL but I'm far to polite for that. And I do admire the OP's optimism. A positive outlook on life is a good thing!

Uh, I'm sorry, but I can't pay my bills with feedback and work promotions, I've been offered this type of compensation many times, be it as a musician to perform, as an artist to draw, as a photographer to take pictures, even as a teacher for tutoring and private lessons. Money, rather than feedback and exposure, is the commodity I take for my labor, so I'll politely decline.
