A friend of mine has said several times she'd like to be able to watch me for a whole day, just to see what kind of stupid things I do.
Like yesterday morning, when I got on the subway going in the wrong direction. I didn't notice for two LONG stops, and by the time I had corrected my mistake, I was late for work.
Something interesting happened today:
When I got home from work, I turned on the air conditioner, then turned on the fan in my bedroom. Pulled open the blinds with one quick yank and gasped in shock - a man was standing right at my window at eye level. He was painting, and didn't even glance in my direction.
I fled the room and stayed out of it for the next half hour, peeking in every once in awhile to see if he was gone yet. Finally he wasn't there when I looked, so I rushed in to close the blinds. I caught a glimpse of him then, with his shorts pulled partway down, taking a leak against the building across from me. Nice.
How often do you feel like foolish and glad no one you know is watching?
