I've been waiting for this day. May and/or June is typically gloomy and over cast where I am. Every day covered in gray clouds. But then there comes this day....The sky clears, but with some clouds to the side to keep it cool and mild, not hot. The air is fresh (thanks to a spattering of rain), breezy, invigorating. And everywhere you look the world is green and blooming. This is bouquet day. Fresh flowers cascade down the green hills and present a symphony of colors around almost every building from flowerboxes to gardens, from overhanging trees to vases on cafe tables.

And as you gaze West down one main street or another, you see in the distance the Pacific ocean, deep, rich blue and dotted with sailboats.

This colorful, living day extends to, well, everything. The houses and apartments seem all happy and welcoming, the people relaxed, no rushing, no tension. All troubles and worries and bad news have been put on hold today. The dogs being walked wag their tails and smile up at passers-by. The whole city becomes one big, friendly neighborhood.

I don't know if we'll get several of these type of days, or just this one. I only know that, in my part of the world, it regularly shows up right about this time, between late May and early June. And oh, do I live for it. This is the epitome of spring/summer to me, the sort of day that makes you think of how you use to ride your bike with friends, or makes you think about having a picnic in the park with fresh lemonade and fruit pies. :D

:rose: Have you have this day yet in your part of the world? :rose:

It's quite beautiful here in New Jersey today. I enjoyed seeing the sun when I went out for lunch :D

Though it's still dark here in Oz, I know it will be a beautiful day here. It usually is where I live. In a small country town with picturesque views.

Thank you for giving me something to look forward to. :rose:

Yes, I think I have.
There comes a day at the end of May or early June, when the may-blossom erupts and the air hangs heavy with its scent. Then the sun comes up into an azure sky; the leaves are freshly greened, there's a gentle breeze and all is very right with the world.

We've had a couple weeks of 'em here in Appalachia -- separated by days of rain/storms. :) The honeysuckle is in bloom now. Air smells SWEET.
