503 and 500 Server Errors

I can see from the forum history that it's happened before, but I seem to be encountering a LOT of 500s and 503s lately. Usually associated with either the refresh of a stale screen kept up overnight (so possibly expired credentials?) or the first visit to the site after a long period (same possible issue?) The reason I'm leaning towards stale credentials being the issue is that the initiator chain seems to point to auth.literotica.com/check as the method that's failing. I've attached a screenshot of the initiating http call (the 503 Service Unavailable response is immediately after it in the log)

I'm not 100% sold on the stale "credentials possibility", but it's the best lead I have based on what I've observed. Opening stories and browsing the site seems to work okay after a refresh flushes things.

It's terrible indeed, for me mostly the last days or so. Also PM-ing with someone is nearly impossible at times.
Hope it doesn't have something to do with the .PHP problems that existed last week?

A 503 error is a server-side problem
Which is where PHP runs. Yes.

The vulnerabilities disclosed last week could result in server-side errors for any number of different reasons:

The server has already been attacked, and, either application code or the server environment is corrupted now.
A security patch was applied to the PHP runtime in production without testing, and didn't work perfectly.
Defensive PHP configuration settings were changed in ways that aren't compatible with the specific application running on it.

Insider knowledge?

I'm still getting lots of these errors and it makes the site a lot less enjoyable. It's like we're on dial up a modem.

hopefully they sort out the issue sooner than later.

If you haven't saved your work to another location, it may change when the control panel comes back online. My advice - check everything you have posted for data integrity once the control panel is stable.

This is the message now when accessing the control panel

"Unfortunately, we can not display Activities due to a technical issue right now. Please try again later."

The technical errors seem to be common but transient. I tried the Control Panel just now and got something weird I'd never seen before, but it then went on to work. We're used to these transient glitches, but they certainly seem to be more common on the story side these last few days.

Now at my Favorites and Reading Lists:
"You do not have this reading list"
Edit: The last time something like this happened, my lists got permanently messed up—the older additions ended up ahead of the newer ones.

Unfortunately now the control panel is displaying the log on screen even though you are already logged on similar to what happens in The forum on occasion

I'm getting a lot of transient errors as well. Most of the time fixed by a refresh, sometimes two or three refreshes, but nothing permanent.

Yeah, Lit story side Control Panel is kinda busted, although Activities seems to be occasionally working. Specifically getting a 502 error (CORS Missing allow origin) when trying to access my works.

Lit forum side and story side are two completely separate sites, which is why @SmilingLez's suggestion to sign in directly there works.

Edit: Stories display, counts (number of stories) and Poems do not.

I have also been getting lots of errors on lit side over the last two days. Hoping they can fix it soon...

What makes you think they are unaware? Most systems spew failure logs when failures occur.
I don't think they're unaware so much as hope they are aware.

Maybe it's me, but I would never be silent about a systemic problem. It would take literally minutes for someone to put a banner on the front page (and other popular pages like New Stories, and in a pinned post on the Forum) saying, "We know about the 5xx errors. We're working on it." Therefore, if no such communication happens, my instinct is to assume that the right person hasn't been notified.
