503 and 500 Server Errors

I don't think they're unaware so much as hope they are aware.

Maybe it's me, but I would never be silent about a systemic problem. It would take literally minutes for someone to put a banner on the front page (and other popular pages like New Stories, and in a pinned post on the Forum) saying, "We know about the 5xx errors. We're working on it." Therefore, if no such communication happens, my instinct is to assume that the right person hasn't been notified.
If you do a search on both site owners handles you will see they rarely publicly respond to anything. Silence is their status quo. Also the site has been extremely glitchy for almost a month.

Surely you know by now that there's only a skeleton staff, not a corporate IT cast of hundreds or even tens? I suspect Laurel and Manu were well aware of the glitches, as evidenced by the fact they were fixed.

The error message on the CP, by the way, was something I've never seen before, so at least they posted that.

"Minutes" was a pretty good estimate. Worth it. Period. Unless the building is on fire, you don't ignore your customers, and yes, we authors are customers (and readers were also getting the errors).
