There are some companies that use aerial/military film... it is lovely as it has a very smooth range, but it tends to be really thin (to save weight and get as much as possible on board) and i have been reduced to near tears trying to load it into a processing tank. The one i used was fabulous to look at, not to handle!

I have to say that your film kit is the kit I lusted after before I moved to digital . The Zeiss Ikon is a beauty imho.

The Zeiss was given to me. You can get them silly cheap on ebay. The thing is, they work! I have used it in very sub zero temps and it gets the shot. Same with the Rollei 35 (although they are not so cheap these days).

I have a range of cameras, some work, some work sometimes! i used Pentax SLRs as i can swap lenses with the digital one. I sometimes buy cameras for fun and use them once. One lasted exactly one roll of film before it stopped working! The medium format ones are fun - i have some Twin Lens ones and a Bronica SLR, but the Zeiss Ikon is the one that travels with me as it folds and it great for landscape shots.

It's a great photo. I had a similar experience. I was cursing a couple sitting in my view, but took it anyway. When I looked at it later I realised they made the shot.

Because it's but a fraction of the size it used to be. Winters aren't cold enough for it to replenish what mass it lost during summers anymore.

The one we hiked in Iceland, the visitor center was built at the foot of the glacier but is now over a mile away. The before and after pictures are quite sobering.
