30 in 30 Companion Thread

Angeline, Volunteers of America, damn.

Most of it is a memory from my misspent youth...or well spent lol. I did see Jefferson Airplane perform Volunteers at Sheep Meadow in Central Park. It was a free concert on a Sunday after they had played that weekend at the Fillmore East. It was pretty amazing.

Also Tzara had those great senses prompts on the 5 Senses Challenge (which is totally rocking of late).

Today I have no clue what to write so I think I'll be back later. :D

Well, I've fallen and will have to get back up another time. Today just got away from me, and by the time I realized it, it was too late. I think it was pretty obvious I was struggling, anyway. :)

Sorry to see you leave the uh party. Next time. :rose:

Well, drat...don't be a stranger, though, jump in on 5 Senses or any of the other threads when the spirit takes you.

:rose::kiss:

Me too! Though I haven't been very talkative lately, I was enjoying being here with you and Remec.

Oh, I will. I'm always lurking around here in the shadows somewhere. :)

Hey life happens. For me these one a day things are odd. On the one hand they open you up to what is happening all around you but sometimes they become an obligation, even drudgery.

Do what is best for you, I know it gets dificult with travel, one of the reasons I favour the shorter 007's.

The other times I've done it, it's been pretty good for me. But, I was really running out of steam this time, fairly early on.

When I did my first 30/30 early this year, I probably hadn't written twenty poems in the year that preceded it. Hell, I hadn't even been writing for a whole year at that point.

Thought I could use a push, and it's fun here when there are others trying to get through it, too. But, yeah, life happened. :)

I'm bummed out for you, American sentences always got me out of a hole when things got stale/busy

Thanks, Harry. I was writing quite a few of those this time, just lost all track of time yesterday, and by the time I realized it, it was too late. Maybe next time, I'll set a daily alarm. :)

just keep a file of ideas, cool/deep/questioning lines/nonsense, helped me to have something in print I could copy and paste *shrugs*

Nshm 23: rename Rain Dance :D

Lol! Good idea! Still waiting on the rain here: we're supposed to get some later today. At least we got the air conditioning fixed. The past two days without any was not fun. It has been high 90s, even up here in the mountains!

Congrats Remec on another good run. You make it look effortless, you know. :rose:

Congrats on finishing, Remec! :)

Can't imagine why you'd write a rainy poem today. ;)

Thank you all. It's funny but the poem felt matter-of-fact as i wrote it. Thinking that way is the new normal for me if only because I can't imagine ending the conversation. :)

I think that's why it touched me so much, actually. It feels... settled. That's the best word I've got right now. I feel the journey between loss and living the new normal in the poem. That really got to me.

Remec, another lovely run - congratulations!

Thanks, eve'yone! I'm glad it looks effortless, 'cause it's sometimes a real pain in the butt to even come up with something to write about, let alone write it, before I run out of time given my daily schedule through the week.

Time to kick back for a month or three and just pitch in on a thread here or a challenge there for a while. (Or maybe buckle down and get one of these stories in my head down instead. or in addition to, the poems.)

:D:heart:

Congrats Remec, I read somewhere that making it seem effortless was the sign of a pro but I'm not sure which profession was referred to.

Congratulations on such a strong finish to your 30/30, Angie!

I have some very special memories located at the Jersey Shore, and I loved being reminded of them.
