This is the thread to discuss a team poetry event, whereby we need at least two teams of four to have said contest. If you're interested in participating, I think Charley, EPMD, ChipButty, UYS, and maybe Tzara said they're interested, anyway post here so we know you're available for a team.

I like the idea of captains, EPMD has decided he wants to be a captain, so we could use someone else as his nemesis. We could even have a threeway, three teams each with a captain. But the main thing for making teams is the captain has to choose who he or she wants on their team. I do like the idea of keeping the teams secret, so PM the people you want and don't tell us who went where.

To begin, maybe just say you're available to play, and whether you'd like to captain your team to victory. The contest is going to be pretty wacky, and I can tell you now that each player will have a collaborative hand in the poem(s) you'll be asked to write. So right now I think it will be two teams of four. I'll judge but we could also use additional judges if there's more people than eight who want to play.

I'm in.

Think im too much a nOOb here still to be a captain, but if another judge is required, i can handle that - or take part.

May I please join the contest? I am only a beginner poet, but I will do my best to support others on my team.

Roll Call:

Tristesse, UnderYourSpell, ChipButty, DrewBerryLess, BronzeAge, EPMD607

are available for teams. I hope Charley will be the second captain, then we'll have seven, and we could use at least one more person to have our eight. Tzara, Remec, EroticOrogeny, Hmmnmm?

Once we get our 8 or 12 participants, we'll schedule a day and time that is suitable for everyone involved. At that point each captain will PM the players they want from the list on this thread until they have their team of four. You must keep your team affiliation secret, obviously if you tell someone you can't be on their team they'll probably know what you're up to.

But this exercise will utilize each team's skill set. I will give the rules and goals for the poem the team is to write the day of the contest. This thread is just to organize for the moment and excitement of having to create and cooperate on the fly. The team that meets the requirements and writes the best collaborative poem or poems will be declared the Literotica Team Poetry Champions for 2010(a title I just made up, there is no actual prize.)

Oh yeah, the captain is important as the point person for organizing how the poem gets done. The event will be timed, so the point person is going to have to assign specific tasks for each member of their team and decide the writing order.

I get to choose my batting order? I want Champagne1982 as my lead-off hitter, AnnieSwir batting cleanup.

Do you have a resume of poems? I don't think you have anything on your submissions page. I have to know something about you as a poet before I can put you on my roster.

Available and excited. :D

Does this mean you're accepting the role of captain and arch nemesis?
I'm thinking Charley is more Dark Phoenix

than Dr. Doom

Thank God. :)

Lessee—be a minion of some angry guy in a metal suit and live as peasant in the jerkwater country of Latveria, or chase after the ass of some godlike chick with a hypertoned figure and thick, flowing red hair?

Golly, that's a difficult choice.

Is it just me, or does she seem like Little Orphan Annie on steroids? That blank eye thing, I mean.

Nevermind.

I'd be interested in playing.
I like Epmd67's analogy to baseball. Used to be quite a fan. Saw myself more as a base-stealer, rather than a home run hitter.

A while back, I tried to submit the poems I wrote but none got posted. Not sure what happened. In the future, I will try to resubmit non-horror erotic poetry instead. Well, as a beginner, I am still learning about the basics, such as forms, meter, and rhymes. It is amazing how much material certain poets can pump out on the site. The amount of soulful poetry on the site is simply awe-inspiring. CharleyH and AChild, for example, can write anything! I can never be AChild, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying poetry. I still love getting my hands dirty with poetry for my own amusement.:nana: This is all very new to me.
