It seems Laurel wants to make it as hard as possible to get that "all categories" bonus

Some people have written their stories in the "format" of E-mails or IM chatting. I guess this category helps give them their own home. I say the more the merrier when it comes to categories, though!

Chicklet - if we get up to 40 new categories over the year (we're only 3 or 4 away), will we be breaking down the bonuses into 10, 20, 30 and then all categories? Not that it will affect me, lol.

I always thought of it more of a double thing, write ten, then double it, and since the total amount was so high it was like doubling it again. Unless the total categories go up to 50 I think I'll like it how it is...does anyone care to give other thoughts on that?

Grumbles from your temporary points leader. Geesh just when I knock off one new category with two stories Laurel goes and throws in another. I will never ever get to the end of that list. I am having trouble figuring out simply how to do the audio story let alone all the other categories I haven't submitted in.

Do you find that you want to continue a storyline but yet, submit in more categories before continuing. Sorry, I just needed to grumble somewhere.

I love this contest and I have been turning out stories left and right and have no let up in ideas. As for the switching numbers I would suggest 5 lol it has come up three or four times and I have yet to use it. I at this point can't see Myself closing off any category.

Only one question remains, how many points did it take to win last year?

I think that it would add a little extra excitement to have a bonus line at say 35 - but only if we had atleast 50 categories to fill. Otherwise, it's too easy.

Oh, and PenanceS, Master_Vassago, Chicklet... just because I haven't submitted my stories yet, doesn't mean that I won't... I finished two more stories during easter, and I'll submit them as soon as I've written them into Words...

Don't count me out - you might get a nasty shock!

Oh - and I love the new category. It's gonna be so much fun! (And inspirational! I'm gonna send copies of the greatest submissions to my hubby.) I remember this chat-transcript where a guy and a gal talked about oral sex for two-three Words pages without ever mentioning ONE word that couldn't be read by a 9-year-old...

what happens if we tie?

I'm thinking that if there's a tie we should go to which of the winners would have more points without immunities.

As Svenskaflicka said, don't get your hopes up about winning yet - wait until the day after new years to consider yourself on top. This is anyone's contest, people don't even need to have started a scoresheet yet. Keep that in mind.

Last year I had 69 submissions for the win...I can't remember how many points I had. I think it was 171 or something along those lines...(quickly searching for the thread) yeah 171 points. 136 without bonuses. Judging by the way this contest is going this year, I think 2003's winner will have many more stories than that.

last year, for a little bit, we had a no-good bastard (not naming any names) who gave us practically minute to minute updates of his score and how he was going to beat us and it was okay cause we were girls and such and he emailed me constantly telling me about his new stories and he went to 100 points in about two weeks...when I saw your post, that's what I thought of, and I'm sorry because I know you didn't mean it that way. Just freaked me out for a second.

the above un-mentioned little fart dropped out of the contest after about a month, and signed off lit for good for personal reasons. I think he would have won had he stuck around, and I probably would have dropped out.

I'm sorry I snapped at you, MV. Forgiveness, please?

I went back and re-read what I had typed and saw that it could be seen as a little overbearing. Just some good fun was all that was meant. I have no interest in posting how far ahead or behind I am normally. Actually I was just hoping to force that damn swede....um Svenskaflicka, hehe I might have messed that up without scrolling to look for her name, to post all her results.
Or any others that are hiding them so I have some idea if I have a comfortable relaxation period coming or if I should submit all the works I have completed at once...

Oh my did I let the out of the bag? I do have quite a few I am holding back just in case of need. I think this is just fun though and I love the commraderie(sp) of this. I don't feel so much as it is just all for winning but putting a lot of good stories hopefully out there for the fans and readers at this site.

People saying my work all sucks ass and that it's a good thing I didn't join any contests that had to do with quality. The usual crap. When, exactly, can we check the London Lotto? I know it's by Midnight Wednesday morning in London. And, I checked the page earlier today, but the date and numbers they had were for last Saturday. Now, I checked just a minute ago, and it has today's date. Has anyone else noticed this? Why would the link to the lotto page show last Saturday's winnings instead of, say, yesterday's?

wednesday at 1:30pm Pacific time is when the wednesday drawing seems to go up. Usually at that time.

Not being a citizen of the UK, I can't really answer your question, but I assume that they have a drawing on Saturday and a drawing on Wednesday every week, and until the numbers for Wednesday are put up they show the last drawing, which would be saturday. And between Wednesday and the next Saturday drawing, the Wednesday numbers remain posted.
