😈✨🍺MrTenant's Tavern and Dungeon

I found a cluster of white hairs on my head last week. I have plucked over 20 since then, which is more than the 1 every two years that I normally found before, which made it feel like I'm losing this battle.

So now I have a new goal. Imma be one sexy smart white haired kitten, just like you sir 😊
@AngelWithAShotgun you've plucked as many hairs as I've Got left on my head

You've got them at a constant rate? 👀 I got my first half a dozen pretty instantly when I was 31.. Then it kept constant for 10 years (+ few months), and then at least a dozen more again rather instantly.

So now I have that about 20 or so. I assume it will stay that way until something dramatic happens again, or I come old enough. Maybe 10 years again?

White is pretty! 😍 I really wish I get white instead of silver, silver doesn't go together with my skin tone...

And now I'm annoyed. I was supposed to have a referral to lab, but it hadn't been done yet, and so I skipped breakfast in vain. Have to go to there again later.

Yush, I found 1 every 2 years (ish) since I was 21 but based on what you said, I'm guessing 20ish will be a new normal 🤔
White is pretty!
I suppose, some are gradients though. I found a few strands that had 3 colours in it. White at the tip and spotted black, brown and gray in the middle with a black root... I thought it wasn't mine at first but I found a few more like it 😳
Lol you young ladies have nothing to worry about..
You're very brave, last week was the first time I had a proper look in the mirror in a year. I've been too scared to take selfies 😅

That's wild! So it went back to black, never heard of that before! White root and black tip would have been less surprising.

The only living part of hair is the roots, the hair follicles. The whole length after that is already dead without living cells.
well, my hair is naturally black so maybe that explains why my gradient hairs are going white at the tip?

Am considering dyeing it again, maybe bleach it this time so I can go platinum blonde 😁

No it doesn't. That mode would mean that the follicle is first producing white, and then changing back to black again. That's the odd part.

My brown hair stays brown once it's gotten out of the follicle, and the whites stay white once they're out. Hair only grows at the root unlike plants, so one could easily have the older part of the hair, aka tip, being of original colour and then the root changing white at some point, and the next hair out of that follicle being all white in the future.

Well, dyeing can of course mess the colour...

ohhh I'm with you now... that sounds like the same thing that happened to my nails when I was a kid. It used to grow out white from the cuticle but then grow out a natural colour after a couple weeks so it would have odd streaks of white. It stopped eventually but I never did find out why 🤔

Exactly. Nails and hair grow in the same way, the recent new growth colour at the root then travels further away as it continues to grow.

Hello
I have male pattern baldness.
What I'd like to know is why at my age, is why do I still have my dirty blonde hair color?
And why can I land an airplane between the left & right sides. Lol

Or your hair cannot decide whether to get white already or not.

Admittedly 20 is rather young for getting first whites. Maybe your hair isn't sure which colour it should be today begin with?
That's possibly true, although my brother did get his white hairs at 17 and it was so obvious by the time he was in his 20s so it might be genetic. It's possible that I'm just too stubborn and have been resisting all this time 😂

(Have to say, I hadn't noticed his hair recently. I might have to check if his went back to mostly black...)
Your hairdresser! Wait, no... that wasn't it 🤔
