My family are good people but my MIL can be exhausting. My wife calls her the female Felix Unger lol. By nature I need a lot of alone time and cooped up in a small house in Florida is very taxing for me.

Same with my in-laws. Even my partner finds his mother "a bit much" and doesn't want to stay overnight, though she's really nice and caring, and a good person. Limited amounts is fine.

My MIL is very uptight and cannot relax. Her nervous energy really gets to me.

My MIL is more of the excited adhd + "extrovert who's been starved for company".

So when visiting, I have to be in flexible more, no relaxing.

That sounds much better than the +2°C that we're forecasted today and as of late. We'll likely get a black Xmas this year

We had Independence day yesterday. We had a nice 3 course dinner (leftovers for lunch today!) and then the annual tradition, watching Presidential Independence Day Reception on TV and reviewing all the dresses.

I have a week to my pre-Yule party and I'll be busy pretty much all week... One peer group meeting on Tuesday and "old" SIL coming on Wednesday (meaning I have to finish gifts to her children before that). I have something every single day.

I pace when I'm on the phone. I inherited it from my dad... he paced on the phone so much at work he wore a path in the carpet.
