Our fireplace needs work and we don't have the money right now to repair it. So we've put candles and a mirror in to make the room look nice.

We did a similar thing in my childhood home. The open fireplace of the 70s didn't work well (dad actually demolished it later to make the space more functional - it was in the middle of the living room) , so mom just put loads of candles there.
