Let's not make snarky comments about where people live or what we think their politics might be. This thread (MrTs tavern) is a place anyone can come and be welcomed.

You can be self depricating or be exasperated by your family/friends if you need a place to vent, but the rest should be taken to another thread or a different forum altogether.

My wife’s family has all moved to Florida and we’re the only ones left up here. It hurts my wife to be isolated from them but she has repeatedly said she will never live there. Her mother, my MIL, can be a pest and a nudge but she has a heart of gold and will do anything for her family. Although she is no liberal, she detests Trump and DeSantis.

It's difficult to be at a distance from loved ones. I'm like your wife - I really can't imagine living in Florida, but I have people there I love very much and there is a lot of beauty in the state - lots of coastline, islands, the everglades and I'm sure lots more.

I might be able to facilitate a connection for her with the daughter of a close, lifelong friend.
She's done well in the fashion industry, nationally and internationally, and is currently in NY.
