I make breakfast and try to explain to my sister via WhatsApp that nuclear fusion for energy generation is still a pipe dream at the moment and will remain so for a very long time. She is a farmer and has read an article about it.
What she has understood very well is that if we only invested the money that the oil and gas lobby spends on their propaganda and lies about renewable energies in batteries and solar cells, we might just be able to get the climate catastrophe under control. Of course, hundreds of thousands would still die needlessly, but we might get away with it again.
Unfortunately, none of this will happen.
My sister often asks me technical questions, and since I work in an industry that has to do with oil and gas, I know a little about it.
Somehow I'm not very hungry any more. I just eat a yoghurt and drink a cup of tea.
