Day 31: A song for change

UK\DK was one of the first Oi! And street punk compilations that I ever bought. This song will always take me back to those days when I felt like anything was possible.

And I always loved their Clockwork Orange droog, look.

(Shhhh… don’t tell anyone I’m taking liberties by posting two songs in one…)

Day 24: A [PYOT] song from the 20s Acronym

This wasn’t the song I was thinking of but once I listened to it….This song is terrible. A perfect example of someone who’s fame was only ever predicated on wealth not talent paying someone far more talented to lend credence to their work. I’m not at all surprised Megan didn’t show up to shoot the video. Every part of this song without her is…oh boy….

Anyway it makes me laugh at its awfulness.

I'm not sure if I thank you for this or shake my fist at you. 🤭

Day 31: A song for change
“Well, the future has got me worried, such awful thoughts
My head is a carousel of pictures
The spinning never stops
I just want someone to walk in front
And I'll follow the leader

Like when I fell under the weight of a schoolboy crush
Started carrying her books and doing lots of drugs
I almost forgot who I was
But came to my senses

Now I'm tryin' to be assertive
I'm making plans
Wanna rise to the occasion, yeah
Meet all of their demands
But all I do is just lay in bed
And hide under the covers

Yeah, I know I should be brave
But I'm just too afraid of all this change

And it's too hard to focus through all this doubt
I keep making these "To Do" lists but nothing gets crossed out
Working on the record seems pointless now
When the world ends, who's gonna hear it?”

Bright Eyes - Nothing Gets Crossed Out

Hey folks! Little update here:

It’s been a great two years running this thread. Longer than I ever originally envisioned it going! I appreciate all the posters—those who have been here from the start, those new, and those who have been in and out. I’ve had a lot of fun, but now I’m going to take a step back and hand over the reins. @Mr_bogey has been away from the thread for a bit but he was one of the ground floor originals. He’s been a great friend to me, loves music, and loves this thread.
Is it questionable to leave the thread in the hands of the reason we have the one song rule? TBD 😝

I’ll still be around and participating, but he’s going to be posting the prompts. I’ll update the first post periodically but, if you don’t see the prompt there, just look for the latest post from Bogey.

PYOT was a bit of a cop out for me because of not being in not the best headspace, but it actually turned out fabulous. So many great theme choices and songs!

If you picked a theme and stuck with it for all 7 days of decades week, you earned a Second Song Pass (good for one additional song for a prompt next month).

Thank you for creating this wonderful space. It's been my absolute favorite thread. @Mr_bogey has got some damn big shoes to fill!

I can't believe you're going to make me defend Paris Hilton. I will never forgive you for this!!!! 😭 However as annoying as she is, it's just a silly pop song for dancing and I'm going to dance every time I hear it so it's done its job as far as I'm concerned 😁

Day 31: A song for change

It's October 31 so I have to interpret change as shapeshift 🐺
