Are you good at trusting your gut when it comes to other people? Does it differ between "real" life and Lit life? Has your gut ever been proven right/wrong?

It's not so much that I've gotten better over the years at trusting my gut about certain people and situations. It's that I tolerate less insanity and worry less about walking away from a toxic relationship.

Yes. Although i don't usually let it get as far as insanity. :D

Anyone who clearly isn't a good fit, even if they're perfectly nice, anyone with whom i have communication issues that seem unable to be resolved, anyone who doesn't seem motivated to invest in the relationship, anyone who hoovers my energy.

I don't need the relationship to be toxic, just not the best use of my limited resources.

My gut instinct on Lit is reasonable rather than infallible.

When you’re interacting online, you miss out on lots of visual and audio cues which you’d pick up on when meeting someone in person.

‘Gut Reaction’ is the title of a magazine about living with IBS, incidentally...

Haha! Gross.

Agreed, online stuff is made more challenging by the lack of non-verbal communication which is what? 90% of language?
Something like that.

My gut reaction (first impression/instinct) has always proven right. The problem is I also like to believe the best in people and give second chances. This is just innately more complicated on Lit when you only have words to base impressions on. There have been a few situations when I knew better, my guts was right, but I let myself believe the "nah, I'm like that" talk. Walls are rebuildable, praise be.

The other side of this is that when my gut says "this one's a winner" -- I'm always right. And that's nice.

This is me. I was the Queen of Second Chances.
No more, I may add. I’m too old for this shit. I give a lot to my relationships. I’ve decided that if someone won’t take the leap with me into real life? I don’t need them. I’m over words on a screen as my only form of friendship. Voice me, call me, meet me.

Online and RL are interchangeable as far as my gut goes. I may have more tolerance for someone I tangibly know, because I know more about them... also Mei5ter makes a good point about eye contact, voice inflection, body language cues, etc.
That being said, I’ve had mostly good online experiences, not just on Lit. I have met many people from my online life in my 3D life. It mostly translates.
When it doesn’t? Well...
My gut is sometimes wrong, more than I would like. I guess I still assume most people are honest.
Shame on me.

I think that as others have mentioned, I do better at trusting my gut IRL. You have a lot more clues and cues in real life. And my gut is most always right. In Lit I do not usually lead with my gut. I take people at their word(s) at first and usually need a good smack in the face before I say hmmmm...maybe not such a good idea.

In real life, yes. Very good at following my gut. Online, I think I talk myself out of my gut feelings and that has really burned me in the past.

Would you ever sent someone a pair of your unmentionables??
Have you? Have you ever wanted someone to send them a pair of your undies? Have you ever kept a pair of a lovers?

I've never sent or received, although i would have at some point. Probably not now. I did request and receive someone's undershirt after they'd worn it, and they sent it, in a gallon Ziploc bag. I've still got it. 🖤💜

Offline, I've never kept anyone's drawers. All but one have worn tighty whities, i think that's pretty self-explanatory. I have had two lovers be in possession of a pair of my knickers and tell me later that they'd used them to wank with, one laid them over his face, one wrapped them around his cock.

Fun fact: the cock-wrapper also tried them on AND TEXTED ME PICS. 😂😂😂
No, he wasn't a C.D., just pervy and curious. Weirdo. :D

Somehow I do not really have an undies thing... never sent, received or worn them on my head. Not really sure what it is I am missing....

It came up with someone once but customs would have been an issue probably. No idea. It didn’t happen but I’d do it no drama.

I’m not really interested in receiving smelly man undies but I’d be keen on a shirt they’d worn. That would be sexy sexy sexy.

I've had boxers and t-shirts pirated from my dresser drawers and dress shirts from my closet before. It was actually kind of cool once I figured out what was going on.
