Every single thing Led Zepplin produced. I don’t give a shit how good their original stuff may have eventually become, they built their career off blatant theft from Black artists and they can get fucked forever.

Hold it right there, mister! They stole from white artists too. And probably some Hispanic ones as well. They stole from everyone and refused to admit it. They are the British Museum of rock music.

I hit 'love' because I always respect your choices, and your reasoning, and your delightfully hilarious comments!
But that's not to say that I agree with you. I really like Rush, as well as this song. They're not gonna kick me out... haha.
 
Day 21. A song you like with a person's name in the title

I'm going deep today.
This song captures so well something I've always had a hard time articulating. I was institutionalized in my early twenties in no small part because of auditory hallucinations and psychosis. My brain was short circuiting and I was hearing voices I shouldn't have been. It was a dark time in my life and although I'm definitely towards the hope end of the spectrum these days, there are still times where it's hard to trust my thoughts. My head injury last year caused fractures that brought a lot of that stuff back up and it's been hard moving through the fear and confusion.

Hearing this song for the first time affected me in a way that only art can. Ren captures so eloquently the human experience and by wrapping these experiences in language he's helping us all understand each other a little better. He's also helping us heal.

This is a hard one, and I love it. I have read and listened to some of your stories, and thank you for the bravery of sharing all you have. I had a brain injury about 25 years ago. It isn't at all to the level of what you are going through, but I remember that terror -- that the one thing you have depended on, the one instrument that defines who you are, isn't trustworthy. That terror still pops up.

My nephew is fighting paranoid schizophrenia, and wanted me to understand what he was wrestling every day. He sent me this song a couple of years ago, at one of his lucid points, as music was always our bridge. He is back home, on proper med load, and doing...better. Not great, but better. And part of what helped that was this song, because it gave his family a way to understand in a way he couldn't articulate to us, no matter how much he wanted to. I can't fully understand what he is dealing with, in the same way I cannot understand what you are going through either. But this helps. It is a remarkable song, and a tool. Thank you, for sharing all that you do, including this.

I discovered Kingfishr in this thread, (thank you @morelikeasong) and they absolutely sing to me. The album version is beautiful and lush, but I really love the stripped down acoustic version from their EP Live From Doonan. It doesn't get more bare bones: all the songs were recorded in the kitchen of Eoghan “McGoo” McGrath's family home in Doonan, outside Donegal. Three musicians, three instruments, no tricks, just the song. And "Caroline" is an outstanding song.
