Penguin Cafe Orchestra - Music For A Found Harmonium

sooooo many films have this, but most don't know who it is.. here we are, the Penguins, the original ones (Simon Jeffes' son Arthur now heads the Penguin Cafe).
One of the finest pieces of music ever written, as Jeffes wrote it, it's not a traditional tune.
The harmonium was found, on a street in Japan and the song was born.

I love this movie, and I love this soundtrack. Bill Forsyth does such beautiful work. Add in a very young Peter Capaldi and a mermaid? One of my favorite little films ever.

This isn't the first song I thought of, but it was the first movie. I love The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of The Desert so much. I grew up in a rural town kind of like the ones depicted in this movie and it feels pretty representative of Aussie country life.

I would have loved nothing more than having a big silver bus full of drag queens descend on my town
